Roth Audio BAR 1 Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer

Roth Audio has introduced the Roth BAR 1 soundbar with wireless subwoofer for £329. The BAR 1 brings eight mid-range drivers, two high-frequency tweeters, and one wireless sub — and all with a minimum of fuss, a scarcity of wires, and a large helping of sonic and visual style. At only 50mm deep the soundbar id designed to look nice with today's shallow, flat panel TVs.

The subwoofer's wireless reach extends to an impressive 9 metres, meaning you can place the unit somewhere nice and discreet, and there is no danger of unwelcome wires tripping you up in the process.

Setting up your BAR 1 is a painless process. The wireless subwoofer just needs to be plugged into a power source. The soundbar itself connects to your TV via one of its two twin RCAs or the 3.5mm stereo jack. This connectivity provision also means you can easily hook-up the likes of your iPod, other-brand MP3 player, mobile phone, or CD player. Tabletop or wall-mounting options — a wall bracket are included.

Roth Bar 1 Soundbar

Roth founder James Roth says, “Today's TVs look terrific, but tend to sound terrible. The BAR 1 backs up your crystal clear picture with crystal clear audio. At last, no more fiddling with the TV remote in an effort to hear exactly what your TV's pretty pictures are actually saying.”

i own one of these Roth bars, and I’ve found that while watching films the music will get to a high treble and the sound bar can’t handle it, with the speakers emitting a high pitched vibrating / squeaking noise. I’ve tried everything to make it stop. and all the review fail to say it connects with a headphone jack, which i was suspicious of at first. I’m happy with the bar, but it does have some short-comings; 4/5
