Yellow Machine Introduces FailSafe Storage and Secure Remote Access

Disk Scrubbing Technology and Firewall/VPN Router Make Data More Safe and Sharable

Santa Clara, CA, February 27, 2006 — Anthology Solutions, Inc., maker of the Yellow Machine Terabyte Storage Appliance, today announced that it has brought an unmatched set of all-in-one, FailSafe storage and secure networking capabilities to consumers and small businesses via the Yellow Machine. The new system software for the Yellow Machine appliance now dramatically increases drive reliability with the addition of Masterpiece RAID Disk Scrubbing Technology (DST), and provides users with easy and secure remote access to data via an integrated double firewall/VPN router. In addition, a 2.0 Terabyte model joins the 1.0 TB and 1.6 TB models.

This latest version of the Yellow Machine Terabyte Storage appliance provides small businesses and consumers with a full suite of storage, security and networking features once only found in enterprise-class data centers.

FailSafe Storage with Masterpiece RAID Disk Scrubbing Technology (DST) is the first time this revolutionary technology has become available to the masses. Essential storage technology for archival storage systems that is used in large enterprise data systems, DST is included in Yellow Machine System Software version 3.0. Disk Scrubbing Technology automatically monitors and corrects data loss errors before they occur thus ensuring your precious digital data is safe. In addition, the Yellow Machine also now includes Secure Remote Access with a VPN router, firewall and eight-port LAN switch that enable ‘road warrior’ users to save, secure and share data from any location on the Internet. Version 3.0 ships in March to new customers and is available as a free upgrade for standard edition customers.

“Small businesses and consumers are finding that they have more precious digital data and that that data needs to be accessed from more places than ever; increasing the need for FailSafe Storage, effective back-up, and secure remote access capabilities,” said Ted Theocheung, vice president of marketing and business development for Anthology Solutions. “The Yellow Machine’s all-in-one approach ensures that a user can trust their data is safe, and at the same time be able to access stored files anytime, anywhere.”

The newest enhancements to the Yellow Machine appliance join existing best-of-class features such as automatic backup for professional PC networks and always-on reliable RAID storage. Factory-installed EMC Retrospect Professional software can back up six Windows or Mac PCs and assist in disaster recovery. The Yellow Machine appliance also interoperates with Microsoft Active Directory Service for user authentication, and features a reliable hardware design of four independent disks capable of storing, securing and sharing data in a variety of RAID configurations including RAID 5 and RAID 1+0.
