San Jose, CA–(January 7, 2008)–Silicon Optix, the leader in advanced video processors, announces that Viewsonic Corp. a worldwide leader of visual display products, has selected Reon-VX HQV video processing for its flagship Precision Series projector, the Pro8100 home theater projector.

“Drawing on ViewSonic’s heritage and expertise in the visual display industry, the Pro8100 marks our foray into the luxury home theater lifestyle category,” said Jeff Volpe, vice president of marketing, ViewSonic Americas. “We believe that by incorporating HQV, our Pro8100 will satisfy the discerning requirements of high-end consumers.”

Silicon Optix’s Emmy award winning HQV processing delivers the sharpest and most detailed HD images possible by utilizing features such as true 1080i-to-1080p HD deinterlacing and a sophisticated multidirectional diagonal filter that ensures video without jagged edges. HQV also does an incredible job of making SD material approach HD quality by employing advanced scaling, per-pixel detail enhancement and noise reduction technology that removes noise and artifacts caused by compression.

Available now for a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $4,995, the Pro8100 home theater projector comes standard in black, but customers have the option of customizing the projector to their decor with optional white, silver or burgundy skins. The Pro8100 will be sold only through authorized ‘Precision by ViewSonic’ dealers and specialty retailers. For more information on the Pro8100 or to locate an authorized dealer in your area, visit www.ViewSonic.com/Precision.

“Viewsonic has recently experienced tremendous growth and are well suited to compete in the specialty retail market. We are thrilled they have selected HQV for their flagship projector,” said Jim Mannos, President and CEO of Silicon Optix.
