Viewsonic Projector Solution Lets Users Swap Information Not Cables

ORLANDO, June 7, 2006 — ViewSonic Corp. today announced it’s helping business and education users cut the cords that often complicate presentation setup and delivery with the innovative WPG-100 Wireless G Presentation Adapter and the feature-rich PJ658 LCD projector. The new offerings, which round out the company’s wide line-up of projector solutions, allow multiple computers–located anywhere in a room–to wirelessly connect to a projector to stream digital or audio content, without the inconvenience of swapping cables during presentations.

With built-in 802.11b/g, DVI, VGA and LAN connectors, the WPG-100 eliminates the need to upgrade to a more expensive wireless projector. Users can simply connect their laptop to the WPG-100 to project data wirelessly from up to 250 feet, providing an effortless and cost-effective alternative for supporting team presentations and lectures. For additional versatility, the adapter can connect to any display with a DVI or VGA connector for use with an even wider range of applications. The WPG-100 will be available in August for an estimated street price (ESP) of $249.99.

“ViewSonic is committed to extending the visual experience through innovative products that allow people to do more with their technology investments,” said Jeff Volpe, vice president of marketing, ViewSonic Americas. “Our wireless adapter is just the latest example on how we are supporting the varied needs of customers with cost-effective, easy-to-use solutions.”

ViewSonic’s latest projector, the PJ658, is another example of how the company is bringing popular benefits to diverse settings, such as an easy-to-reach lamp when mounted for trouble-free maintenance and auto vertical keystone to automatically project a square image. The PJ658 also offers top-notch security features like a PIN lock to prevent unauthorized use and a security bar for increased theft deterrence.
Additional key features of the PJ658 include the MyScreen functionality that allows users to display a desired photo or company logo upon start up, along with the Whiteboard Mode that reduces the glare when projecting images on whiteboards. Featuring 2,500 lumens, the projector is ideal for virtually any environment–from brightly lit classrooms to shaded boardrooms–and offers a 500:1 contrast ratio, XGA 1024×768 native resolution, Whisper Mode and HDTV signal support.

The PJ658 will be available in July for an ESP of $999, and features ViewSonic’s superior customer support program that includes a three-year limited product warranty, 24/7 technical support and one year of Express Exchange service at no additional charge. The WPG-100 features a one-year product warranty.

The projector and wireless presentation adapter will be available through the professional audio-visual channel, authorized ViewSonic distributors and solution providers.
