Vidikrons VisionTM Model 100 Projector Now Features CineWideTM with AutoScopeTM Technology

UNION CITY, CA — August 29, 2005 — Vidikron, the leading producer of high definition home theater video displays, has further enhanced its flagship projector, the VisionTM Model 100, by incorporating award-winning CineWideTM with AutoScopeTM technology. For the first time, Vidikron combines proprietary image processing and cinema-grade custom lens optics to show movies filmed in the Cinemascope 2.35:1 aspect ratio with constant vertical height. CineWide eliminates black stripes on the top and bottom of the screen while preserving every single line of resolution available from the display’s chips, and the motorized AutoScope lens assembly allows viewers to switch to the new, extra-wide viewing mode with a single remote control button. By combining the Model 100’s LightAmp engine with the CineWideTM technology upgrade, users experience the sharpest high definition video quality that can be viewed in the brightest of environments.

“We have been extremely gratified by the Model 100’s early success this year, especially as enthusiasts everywhere move away from the more traditional dark home theater environments. The unique Vision 100 really shines in the difficult high ambient light environments found in today’s multipurpose living rooms, family rooms, rec rooms, dens and more,” said Jim McGall, vice president of sales and marketing for Vidikron. “With the added boost of a CineWideTM with AutoScope upgrade, even the biggest film buffs around will find their home theater needs truly fulfilled–in any room of the house.”

The Vision Model 100 is a three-chip high-light-output DLP projector that uses Vidikron’s LightAmp engine to create bright and detailed pictures even in high-ambient-light situations such as family rooms and living rooms, which often double as home theater environments. The projector produces tremendous brightness, measured at 3500 ANSI lumens (78.5 ft-Lamberts CSMS).

The high performance Model 100 features high-definition resolution at 1280 x 720, with a contrast ratio of 2000:1. The multi-standard projector offers a wide variety of versatile features including extensive lens shift capability and power zoom for total installation flexibility. The Model 100’s 16:9 native aspect ratio DMD array makes it ideal for widescreen viewing, while its 3-chip, 1280 x 720 native resolution produces crisp, crystal clear high definition images with richly saturated colors, deep black levels and natural, highly refined image detail.
