Four new Universal Plug & Play radios use same home dock, car dock and boombox for easy interchangeability
SIRIUS Satellite Radio (NASDAQ: SIRI) announced that it is introducing four new small, sleek Plug & Play radios — the Starmate4, Starmate3, Sportster3 and SIRIUS Stratus. Each radio can fit into a universal home dock, car dock and boombox, making them easily transportable from the car to the home, and on the go. The recently released Sportster4 will also be able to connect to these universal docks.
The Starmate4 has been designed with an ultra-slim form-factor to fit easily into smaller vehicles and tighter mounting locations while maintaining a large wide-screen display that provides the ability to view longer artist names and song titles with up to five lines of text. The Starmate4 also replays up to 44 minutes of content and can pause, rewind and fast-forward. The Starmate4 package includes the receiver, vehicle power adapter, remote, vehicle antenna, vehicle dock, and vehicle mounts. The Starmate4 will be available in October at an MSRP of $119.99.
The Starmate3 provides a less expensive way to experience the Starmate’s popular look and feel. Expected to hit retail in October, the Starmate3 has all of the features of the Starmate4 except for the 44 minute replay capability. The radio, at an MSRP of $99.99, will be available at select stores, and includes the receiver, vehicle power adapter, remote, vehicle antenna, vehicle dock and vehicle mounts.
The easy to use Sportster3 features a slim design and the same easy-to-use rotary tuning knob and large buttons that have helped make the Sportster series one of the most popular satellite radios. The package will include the receiver, vehicle power adapter, remote, vehicle antenna, vehicle dock and suction cup mount. At an MSRP of $119.99, the Sportster3 is expected to be available in September.
The Starmate4, Starmate3 and Sportster3 all also feature:

The SIRIUS Stratus, expected to be available in October at an MSRP of $59.99, is the easiest to use most affordable Plug & Play receiver that features the new SIRIUS universal docking capability. Simplicity and ease of use are found in 10 button presets, direct entry tuning, a three line display and large buttons. The radio features push button controls, One-touch Jump, 10 presets, direct channel access, parental controls, a 100 channel built-in wireless FM transmitter, FM frequency shortcut button, and a real time clock. The package includes the receiver, vehicle power adapter, magnetic antenna, and dash and vent mounts.
The Universal Plug & Play Home Kit SUPH1 features a high-gloss finish and an angled back for easy viewing. Excepted to be available in August, the kit will retail for an MSRP of $49.99 and include the home dock, windowsill antenna, audio cables, and AC power adapter. The Universal Plug & Play Vehicle Kit SUPV1, a common vehicle kit for all new 2006 Plug & Plays with the SIRIUS universal docking capability, is expected to be available in August at an MSRP of $49.99. The package includes the vehicle dock, low profile car antenna, windshield and vent mount, and vehicle power adapter.
The Plug & Play Boombox SUBX1, supporting all new 2006 Universal Plug & Plays with the SIRIUS universal docking capability, features a 2.1 audio system, 3 channel amplifier, aux input, and headphone jack, and can be battery powered for portable use. The package, including the boombox, windowsill antenna, and AC power adapter, is expected to be available in August at an MSRP of $99.95.
The SIRIUS Universal Docking Connector will allow SIRIUS Universal Plug & Play receivers to be used in a number of audio systems being introduced by other suppliers.
