Sharp today introduces the new PN-“E” large-format professional LCD monitor suite, building on the company’s successful history in commercial displays. Offering a new thin bezel design for flexible mounting and placement options, combined with superior image quality and reliable 24/7 use, this Energy-Star qualified series is ideal for the most sophisticated commercial signage and display applications. The PN-E601, PN-E521 and PN-E421 additionally offer compatibility for use in both portrait and landscape mode applications. To meet a wider range of customer applications, the new PN-E Series offers an optional expansion board that expands the available input and output terminals and an optional Signage Controller for a complete digital signage package.
The suite of new large-format Professional LCD Monitors includes:
- PN-E601 – 60-inch class (60 1/16″ diagonal); 5,000:1 contrast ratio ($7,550)
- PN-E521 – 52-inch class (52 1/16″ diagonal); 5,000:1 contrast ratio ($4,195)
- PN-E471 – 47-inch class (46 15/16″ diagonal); 1,000:1 contrast ratio ($2,895)
- PN-E421 – 42-inch class (42 1/16″ diagonal); 3,000:1 contrast ratio ($1,795)

All-in-One Digital Signage Package
The new PN-E Monitor Series offers several features and add-ons that enable a complete digital signage solution. The monitors afford full compatibility with Sharp Digital Signage Software (SDSS™) and to ensure maximum flexibility for signage and display applications, the monitors offer an optional input/output interface expansion board (model PN-ZB01), which expands the available input/output terminals. The PN-ZB01 also permits DVI Daisy Chain to link to five displays for easy and effective video walls, aided by the monitors’ thin-bezel design. A built-in enlargement function allows a user to create up to 5×5 video walls from a PC. For even further flexibility, the new series includes an optional Signage Controller (model PN-TPC1) that easily attaches to the rear of the display, providing an all-in-one digital signage package.
Superior Image and Audio Quality
The PN-E Monitor Series offers a full 1920 x 1080 high-definition (HD) resolution from almost any analog or digital RGB source as well as HD video for outstanding image quality. The Professional LCD Monitors also provide impressive contrast ratios up to 5,000:1 and high brightness (ranging from 500 to 700 cd/m2) for a bright picture in virtually any lighting condition. The monitors also offer extensive color adjustments including black level / brightness, contrast, tint, sharpness, white balance and gamma, as well as Picture in Picture and Picture by Picture capabilities. For superior sound quality, the Series includes 10 watts per channel of stereo audio with built-in speakers.
Reliability and Connectivity
For greater reliability in any commercial application, the monitors offer a commercial design and components, including durable integrated carrying handles and a unique fanless architecture that provides virtually silent operation and greatly minimizes dust accumulation in the unit, ideal for extended 24/7 use. The monitors also offer a lockable key panel and power-on delay function.
The PN-E Series has a full complement of input and output connectors to display all types of content, including an HDMI input, PC input, stereo audio input and an RS-232C input which allows the monitor to be controlled, monitored and have diagnostics performed from a central location. The optional PN-ZB01 expansion board conveniently attaches to the rear of the display and adds DVI-D input/output, 5-BNC analog RGB input, component video input, S-Video input, BNC composite video input, two additional stereo audio inputs, stereo speaker output (10W x 2) and RJ-45 LAN display control.
The optional PN-TPC1 signage controller easily attaches to the rear of the display and utilizes a powerful dual core Intel Atom™ N330 CPU that is capable of supporting multiple monitors and video streams. The PN-TPC1 comes pre-loaded with Sharp Digital Signage Software and is certified to run many third party digital signage software packages including Scala and BroadSign™.
For use in high traffic settings, versions of all screen sizes are available with integrated protective acrylic overlays.
The PN-E Series is supported with a 3-year, 24/7 on-site parts and labor limited warranty, including a 3-year warranty on the backlight with no restrictions on whether the monitor is installed in portrait or landscape mode.
