RTIs T2 Universal System Controller Wins 2004 Distributed Audio Award

LONG BEACH, CA — November 22, 2004 — Remote Technologies Incorporated (RTI), the leader in innovative home control solutions, received Electronic House Publishing’s Distributed Audio Award for the “User Interface/Keypads” category. RTI’s T2+ Universal System Controller was chosen from among the finalists for its outstanding ability to simplify the operation of high-end distributed audio & video systems, home theaters, and other residential subsystems. Winners were announced on November 16th at the Fall Electronic House Expo in Long Beach, California.

“All of us at RTI are proud to win the Distributed Audio Award for the innovations we achieved with the T2+,” said Pete Baker, director of sales & marketing at Remote Technologies Incorporated. “Our engineers integrated the power and features that would make the T2+ a pleasure for any user to operate and any installer to integrate. Homeowners and system designers have found the T2+ to be an ideal home control solution, and it’s a thrill to have the product further recognized by Electronic House, especially from among the impressive group of finalists.”

RTI’s T2+ Universal System Controller was designed to provide intuitive operation to virtually any user, regardless of their experience with complex audio/video systems. The T2+ balances basic and advanced functions by combining 32 fully programmable hard buttons and a touch-sensitive backlit LCD that displays high-contrast menus and scroll lists. Measuring 1.1 inches thin, and weighing 8.5 ounces, the T2+ makes accessing all functions easy even for smaller hands. The LCD and buttons automatically light up when the remote is picked up, and the LCD never needs calibrating, making for stress-free use every day.

The T2+ also takes advantage of RTI’s TheaterTouch Designer software, which has evolved over a decade to become the most intuitive and reliable remote programming interface available to installers today. The program allows system integrators to create macros, store IR codes, drag and drop bitmaps, and more to achieve repeatable and time-saving success on each job.

The Fall 2004 EH Expo marked the third year for the Distributed Audio Awards, which honor the top products in the whole-house electronics systems market. Products competing in the User Interface/Keypad category were judged based on their unique overall features, user benefits, and benefits specifically aimed at designers & installers.
