RTIs K4 In-Wall Universal Controller Pushes Through as a Finalist in the 2005 RESI Awards Competition

EDEN PRAIRIE, MN — August 15, 2005 — Remote Technologies Incorporated (RTI) has announced today that its K4 In-Wall Universal System Controller has been named a finalist in the RESI Awards’ Wall Keypad Controller category. The K4 is the first stand-alone touch panel remote with infrared control, video monitoring, and Ethernet connectivity that provides effortless integration with any size project.

said Pete Baker, director of sales and marketing, RTI. “With the K4’s outstanding versatility, we’ve really made an effort to provide a complete control solution for integrated home systems.”

The K4 Universal Controller’s capabilities include infrared control, video monitoring, and Ethernet connectivity. These features are made available through a 6.4-inch TFT LCD touchscreen with full VGA resolution, powerful 32-bit processor and infrared receiver.

The K4 can directly control almost any audio/video component, interface with lighting control or HVAC systems, display video (full-screen or scaleable), provide internet access with built-in web browser. For control the K4 has a built in infrared output or can be combined with other RTI accessories to provide RS-232, relay control and power sensing. The K4 features a 32-MB non-volatile flash memory and is made fully programmable with RTI’s TheaterTouch Designer software. The controller offers the utmost in ease and customization with the ability to display custom buttons, text, graphics, and animations.

Residential Systems is the custom installer’s most highly regarded publication. Selection criteria include excellence in aesthetic appeal, ergonomic design, and installability. Winners will be announced during the Resi Awards ceremony at the CEDIA Expo on Thursday, September 8, 2005 at 5 p.m. in Room 146. Finalists will have their products on display at the ceremony.
