RTI Partners with Escient

TheaterTouch Designer Software Now Features Option for Communications with Any Two-Way FireBall Product

EDEN PRAIRIE, MN — June 16, 2006 — Remote Technologies Incorporated (RTI), the pioneer in home entertainment control technology, announces a partnership with Escient, a subsidiary of D&M Holdings, Inc., and the world leader in digital media management systems. Together, this partnership brings award-winning FireBall media management control capabilities to specific RTI universal system controllers.

RTI’s latest K4 and T4 universal system controllers are now capable of communicating with Escient’s FireBall digital media management systems that support two-way control. Escient, the innovator behind the Fireball Music Management Systems, offers a FireBall Control Object Option for RTI controllers. Escient’s Fireball Music Management Systems are designed to make storing, managing, browsing, and playing of all digital music and DVD content as easy as watching the television.

“Integrate-ability is at the very heart of our control products,” said Pete Baker, RTI’s Director of Sales. We’re very pleased to team up with Escient through our Integration Partners Program to provide additional options for our dealers. This new coupling of technologies will allow them to simply drag and drop the Control Object window onto the K4 or T4 TheaterTouch screens and provide full, two-way interaction between Escient’s FireBall products and RTI controllers.”

“We welcomed the opportunity to integrate the advanced media management technologies of our FireBall products with RTI,” said Bernie Sepaniak, president of D&M Holdings’ ReplayTV, Escient and ACT divisions. “This new partnership enhances the capabilities provided by both Escient and RTI technologies, giving consumers greater freedom and enjoyment of their home entertainment.”

All RTI products including the K4 and T4 have been designed with a very open architecture, as it is critical that all controllers interface seamlessly with each other and other electronics. The K4 in-wall controller comes equipped with the ability to communicate directly with Fireball products via 2-way communication.

The T4 touchpanel requires an additional EM-4 expansion module featuring two video inputs that allow it to display the Escient User Interface. For further information on RTI controller and firmware updates, as well as integration with Fireball products, dealers can visit www.rticorp.com.
