Back on October 2, 1950, Charles M. Schulz dropped a little comic strip called Peanuts featuring the forever hopeful round-headed kid we all know as Charlie Brown. Fast forward to 2025, and Peanuts is celebrating its 75th anniversary—still going strong, thanks to a cast of unforgettable characters. Of course, Snoopy remains the undeniable star, the coolest beagle ever to grace a comic strip.
As longtime fans, Pro-Ject Audio Systems decided to mark this milestone with a special turntable release. They collaborated on a unique design featuring comic-inspired artwork tied to music themes—part of their Artist Collection that’s already given us killer editions like AC/DC, Metallica, and Sgt. Pepper, all of which flew off the shelves. This Peanuts turntable fits right into that lineup, blending nostalgia with serious style and Pro-Ject’s signature build quality.

Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang have stayed surprisingly popular over the decades, and part of that lasting charm comes from Vince Guaraldi—the pianist and composer whose A Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack is nothing short of iconic. Growing up before the internet era, we often wondered what happened to Guaraldi beyond that breakthrough success and his string of late ’60s Warner Brothers albums. Sadly, he passed away in 1976, and it seemed like his official releases dried up after 1970’s A Boy Named Charlie Brown soundtrack.
Thankfully, Guaraldi’s music didn’t just vanish. After his death, there were numerous posthumous releases, including a slew of children’s read-along comic book-style story records on Charlie Brown Records in the late ’70s that featured his music. His son kept the legacy alive by releasing archival CDs in the early 2000s with previously unreleased live performances and studio sessions—definitely worth tracking down. On top of that, compilations and rarities from labels like Fantasy and Omnivore Records have surfaced over the years.
More recently, Lee Mendelson Film Productions—the creators behind the Peanuts TV specials—have been filling in the gaps with previously unreleased official soundtracks from Guaraldi’s work on various Peanuts animated shows. It’s a solid way to keep his timeless music alive for longtime fans and new listeners alike.

Peanuts Turntable Limited Special Edition: Even Linus Would Drop His Blanket for This One
The Limited Edition Peanuts Turntable may have Charlie Brown’s face on it, but this thing is no blockhead. Based on Pro-Ject’s T1 BT model, it’s a legit audiophile entry-level turntable that brings real hi-fi chops to the table—just with a whole lot more personality.
It’s built around an 8.6″ premium aluminum tonearm that’s both lightweight and rigid, paired with a pre-installed Ortofon OM 10 cartridge. That’s not a throwaway stylus—it’s a legit upgrade over the usual bundled suspects and comes factory-aligned for plug-and-play use.
The drive system uses a belt connected to a custom sub-platter, which sits in a precision-machined main bearing with a hardened steel axle and brass bushing. Translation: your records spin with dead-on stability. That’s helped by a thick, zero-resonance glass platter—none of that cheap plastic or flimsy steel nonsense.

And yes, it’s Bluetooth-enabled. You can stream wirelessly to your favorite Bluetooth speakers or headphones if you want the convenience without extra gear. A built-in phono preamp means you don’t need a separate phono stage—just hook it up and go.
To top it off (literally), you get a custom acrylic platter mat featuring none other than good ol’ Charlie Brown. It sits right on the glass platter—because if you’re going to spin records, you might as well do it with style and a little Schulz snark.

“As big fans of Peanuts at Pro-Ject Audio Systems, we wanted to celebrate this anniversary with a very special turntable,” said Heinz Lichtenegger, CEO and founder of Pro-Ject Audio Systems. “We teamed up and designed the turntable artwork with music-related comic snippets and a special Charlie Brown acrylic record plate.”
The Pro-Ject Peanuts Turntable just landed in June through authorized Pro-Ject dealers, priced at £579 / €599 in the UK and EU via Henley Audio. U.S. pricing and availability are still to be confirmed, but expect it to show up soon—likely with Snoopy riding shotgun.

I have seen some of the other artist series models in record stores, and they apparently sell rather well. The Metallica and AC/DC models are actually quite expensive.

We reviewed the Sgt. Pepper model and the reviewer loved it so much that she bought it.
I’ve seen the Metallica table up close and it’s not using cheap components. Platter is high quality.
The AC/DC table is definitely different.
Charlie Brown records sell out very quickly these days. One of the most popular RSD releases every year.
