Broadcast Odaptor Provides Industry’s First “Master Control and Playout” Platform
with Integrated Web-Based Controls for Broadcasters

Las Vegas, NV (April 16, 2007) — Origin Digital, Inc., a global video applications service provider, today announced a partnership with OmniBus Systems, the award-winning provider of comprehensive broadcast automation and content management solutions. Leveraging OmniBus’ iTX solution, Origin Digital’s new Broadcast Odaptor provides an innovative platform that allows broadcasters to bring new channels and programming to air, minimizing costly up-front investment in additional physical playout and automation infrastructure. The on-demand platform integrates web-based controls to manage channels from any location, enabling broadcasters to quickly launch new programming or utilize the system as a back-up for business continuity.

“Today’s fast-paced multi-channel distribution environment offers many challenges and opportunities for broadcasters to launch new products and services for any medium,” explained Darcy Lorincz, Chief Executive Officer at Origin Digital. “Our new Broadcast Odaptor eliminates the cost and complexity of delivering existing and new channels, enabling broadcasters to extend the reach of their programming via broadcast, broadband and mobile platforms.”

Origin Digital’s Broadcast Odapter offers a ready-to-go broadcast playout infrastructure for a fully-hosted broadcasting service. The service integrates OmniBus’ iTX solution, which powers all the necessary operations, including digital media management and ingest, scheduling and playout, commercial insertion and branding, and transmission control across multiple platforms from a single source.

iTX is controllable from a virtual interface, providing Origin Digital’s customers with web-based access to every function they need to enhance their operations with extra channels. Additionally, new broadcasters can easily launch new cable, terrestrial, IPTV or mobile TV channels.

“The creation of a master control and playout solution within a hosted environment is unique, and an example of the profound changes iTX is bringing about in the industry,” explained Jay Schwartzberg, OmniBus VP of Sales, Americas. “iTX greatly reduces the cost of entry to bring traditional channels to air, and provides redundancy. The unprecedented scalability of iTX makes it possible for service providers like Origin Digital to open up completely new horizons and business models for established broadcasters and new entrants.”

Origin Digital is demonstrating the new Broadcast Odapter service at NAB in Las Vegas this week. For more information visit the OmniBus booth SU5413.
