—-On Park Row and Online, Consumer Electronics Megastore Brings Hot New Product to the Buying Public—-

Campbell, California — April 06, 2005 — J&R Music World, one of New York City’s top consumer electronics retailers since 1971, and Octave Systems, Inc. a leading technology innovator, have announced an agreement to offer the MULTIPOD 5 in 1 USB device for sale in the store’s location on Park Row in Manhattan and on its Web site at www.jr.com.

Octave’s MULTIPOD 5 in 1 is a digital camera, web camera, video camera, audio recorder and 128MB portable storage device. It does all of this in a three-quarter ounce shell case that’s the size of a pack of gum. The product carries an MSRP of $149.99.

“The MULTIPOD 5 in 1 is a very cool, multi-faceted tool wrapped up into a neat little package,” said Jack Wahrman, senior merchandising manager at New York’s J&R Music World. “With this one-ounce USB device you can record or stream video, take digital images or record audio or store data – it’s a must-have for gadget-lovers.”

“As we harness the growing popularity of our signature product, it’s important for us work with retail partners that combine a powerful market reach with a stellar reputation,” says Roy Worthington, President of Octave Systems, Inc. “There’s no question that J&R Music World falls into that elite category, and we know their support of the MULTIPOD 5 in 1 is going to be a key ingredient in its success.”

As small as the MULTIPOD 5 in 1 is, it’s packed with the technology to capture up to 12 minutes of video with sound. Users can record presentations, video clips for websites, and those all-important birthday parties. And beyond that, its extremely small size lets users take the MULTIPOD 5 in 1 to extremes: hang it on a kite string, attach it to a ski jacket, a radio-controlled model plane or even take it sky-diving for videos that will be beyond breathtaking.

Up to 3,000 full color still photos at 320×240 or 750 full color still photos at 640×480 are one button away with the diminutive device. As with any quality digital camera, users can store photos on the MULTIPOD 5 in 1. Then they can use its USB connection to upload the photos right onto on a computer for storage, emailing, or making prints.

With a storage capacity of 128MB, the MULTIPOD 5 in 1 is the perfect portable storage device. Users can take documents, photos, spreadsheets—-even presentations wherever they go. Data can be easily and rapidly transferred to a PC with the device’s USB connection.

The MULTIPOD 5 in 1 is a plug-n-play video-conferencing device that’s perfect for the web. Connect with telecommuting employees or make presentations to staff and clients anywhere in the world. It’s as easy as U-S-B. The MULTIPOD 5 in 1 is also seamlessly compatible with popular IM programs such as AIM, MSN and Yahoo. Simply plug it into the included USB flexi-cable that functions as an adjustable web camera stand.

The MULTIPOD 5 in 1’s 8 kHz digital voice recording system accommodates hours of dictation for everything from presentations to spur-of-the-moment brainstorms, shopping lists, and more.

The MULTIPOD 5 in 1 can be the “road warrior’s” best friend. It does everything that would normally require separate, heavy and bulky video cameras, voice recorders, still cameras, video conferencing web cams, and portable hard drives. The MULTIPOD 5 in 1 is not intended as a replacement for all these products but it is an extremely convenient alternative capable of performing all five of those functions. And doing it all in a package that’s a mere 3 3/8″ (87mm) long, 15/16″ inches (23mm) wide, and 7/8″ inches (19mm) deep, and weighs in at 0.85 oz (24 grams). With dimensions that small and capabilities so large, the MULTIPOD 5 in 1 represents an essential tool that no pocket, purse, briefcase or backpack should be without.
