Norcross, Ga. – Octava Inc., specialists in HDMI distribution equipment, announced the release of 5×2 HDMI switch and splitter Distribution Amplifier.

The 5×2 HDMI Distribution Amplifier allows Home theater enthusiasts to deliver Full 1080P HD video and audio streams to 2 HD displays simultaneously via HDMI. The 5×2 HDMI Distribution Amplifiers integrates a 5x1HDMI switch, HDMI splitter and Toslink Audio Digital Extraction from HDMI into one compact package.

As the price of flat panel technology continues to drop, many home theater enthusiasts will install multiple displays. The 5×2 Distribution Amplifier allow users to select and distribute HDMI video and audio to 2 HD displays allowing users to fully utilize their HD displays and sources.

The 5×2 HDMI Distribution Amplifier allow users to simultaneously show the same HD video to 2 displays via HDMI at full 1080P resolution.

In addition, a Digital Toslink Audio output is provided. The Digital Toslink Audio Output ‘couples’ audio data from the HDMI data stream. The 5×2 Distribution Amplifier processes the HDMI data and outputs the audio via Toslink Audio while leaving the HDMI signals ( both audio and video) available to both HDMI outputs. The advantage is that users can easily integrate the 5×2 HDMI Distribution Amplifiers with pre-existing Surround Sound Audio Equipment that has no HDMI audio capability.

HDMI is the latest standard for distributing High Definition Digital Video and Audio in high def displays for 2 reasons: 1) uncompressed digital format ensures the best picture quality and 2) HDMI allows content providers to ensure that their intellectual property is protected through HDCP.
