New Extreme HDTV Cables from Gefen Offer High-Performance Transmission for High Definition Systems

WOODLAND HILLS, CA [February 4, 2004] Convergent cabling from Gefen supports long and short distance HDTV (high definition television) resolutions by combining fiber optics and DDC signals into a single cable with DVI connectors. Because video and control signals are combined, the cabling enables extension of high definition signals for televisions, projectors and even DVI-equipped computers. Fiber optics components ensure the integrity of the visual data throughout transmission, guaranteeing high definition resolutions up to 1920 x 1200, outperforming the standard copper-plated DVI cables. HDTV Extreme Cables are currently available in pre-cut lengths of 33, 66, 100, 166 and 300-feet. They require a 1.5-inch clearance in conduit and range in price from $609 to $2349. Custom lengths are also available.

For those working with the new HDMI (high definition multimedia interface), Gefen provides a 6-foot DVI to HDMI cable to connect a DVI display to a HDMI source or vice versa. A selection of HDMI cables in varied lengths for HDMI’s uncompressed video and mutli-channel audio is also available online at www.gefen.com.
