New for CEDIA EXPO 07, ACTION! M20 HD DLP unveiled, the only 720p Projector with BrilliantColor Technology

Ridgefield, NJ, July 17, 2007 — The leading manufacturer of advanced DLP projectors for business, eCinema and home cinema, projectiondesign, announces the new BrilliantColor technology-enhanced Action! M20 720p projector will be demonstrated at CEDIA EXPO 07 in Denver.

The new Action! M20 is hailed as the first and only 720p projector with Texas Instruments BrilliantColor technology. Co-developed by projectiondesign for 720p, BrilliantColor brings projection performance close to that of a 3-chip DLP projector for around one-third of the price.

BrilliantColor is revolutionary in the way colors are processed. The technology adds three extra colors to the color wheel (six-segment, 7x color wheel, RGBCMY)) for a serious improvement in color saturation and a greater than 50% brightness increase in mid-tone images. The result is a dramatically rich picture, with vibrant colors, natural flesh tones and superb low level enhanced detail.

Gary Plavin, projectiondesign LLC President, states, “The M20 is a superbly designed projector, it has superior color saturation, a wider color spectrum and delivers pro-level performance — everything you expect from BrilliantColor technology and more!”

projectiondesign has worked closely with Texas Instruments to offer BrilliantColor technology in true HD2+ DC3 DLP displays. The new Action! M20 offers true high performance SD and HD video at a great value. In addition to superior color performance, it offers true optical lens shift. The result leads to smooth edges and a generous depth of field. Contrast is equally outstanding in the Action! M20: white tones are bright and clean and blacks are lustrous.

The projectiondesign Action! M20 features a sealed optical design, using a precision ground glass 1.85-2.40:1 zoom lens with 0-100% optical vertical shift, off-axis distortion is eliminated. With native resolution of 1280 x 720 using Texas Instruments HD2+ DC3 DLP technology and the company’s proprietary video processor design, the Action! M20 is a bright, lightweight projector that brings high-performance home theater to virtually any room in the house.

This small, sleek projector is housed in a small and stylish magnesium cabinet, unbelievably small, it is practically invisible when installed on the ceiling. To fit a range of interiors, the Action! M20 comes standard in three different automotive-quality finishes: Vanquish gray (Aston Martin), Maranello blue (Ferrari) and Pearl white (Maybach). The Action! M20 is suitable for table and ceiling installations and sets up in just minutes.

The footprint is non-intrusive, measuring only 3.7″ high x 10.9″ wide x 9.2″ deep and weighs only six pounds.

Like higher-end projectiondesign units, the Action! M20 keeps all processing to a single printed circuit board to maintain signal quality and prevent electrical interference. Gold-plated signal paths and connectors ensure optimum signal quality and purity. These features, combined with the company’s exclusive, factory-calibrated RealColor color management system, mean the Action! M20 can reproduce a true D65 white point immediately when switched on and track gray scale perfectly throughout the dynamic range. The result is unparalleled video color reproduction.
