After rolling out its 2025 QNED and OLED lineups, LG may have saved the real showstopper for last with the launch of the OLED evo M5.
What sets the M5 apart is its continuation of LG’s True Wireless Video & Audio Transfer Technology—first introduced in 2023 with the massive 97-inch LG 97M3. But the new M5 pairs that wireless freedom with the same upgraded OLED panel tech found in LG’s G5 series, delivering top-tier image quality without the cable clutter.
LG Zero Connect Box: True Wireless 4K Streaming for the OLED evo M5

To enable wireless video and audio transmission, the OLED evo M5 comes equipped with LG’s Zero Connect Box. This hub serves as the central connection point for all your source devices, wirelessly transmitting content to the TV at up to 4K resolution and 144Hz refresh rate. The only cable required for the M5 display is a power cord, giving you far greater flexibility when setting up your media players, gaming consoles, or set-top boxes—no messy cables needed.
Gaming Support
The evo M5 supports a refresh rate of 144Hz (great for gamers). In addition, the M5 is AMD FreeSync Premium certified and provides access to LG’s Game Optimizer and is ALLM, VRR, and HGIG compatible. In addition, LG recently added Xbox Cloud Gaming (no console required).
Certified by Intertek for Qualified Gaming Performance, the OLED evo M5 boasts an ultra-fast response time of less than 0.1ms. This ensures smooth, vibrant visuals with razor-sharp clarity—ideal for fast-paced gaming and action-packed content.
The M5 is an ideal choice for users who want a premium gaming experience and a cleaner, more flexible setup. Unlike conventional TVs that place HDMI ports on the back of the screen—often requiring users to reach behind the display to power on devices or switch inputs—the M5 relocates all ports to the Zero Connect Box. This allows gaming consoles and other devices to be placed conveniently on a nearby shelf, inside a cabinet, or right next to the sofa. The result? No visible cables between the TV and your entertainment gear.
AI Processing in the LG OLED evo M5: Smarter Picture and Sound Optimization
AI continues to be the buzzword of 2025, and LG leans in with the α (Alpha) 11 AI Processor Gen2—designed to optimize both picture and sound quality, especially on large-screen OLEDs like the M5.
This AI-driven processor handles advanced upscaling and analyzes the filmmaker’s intent to reduce picture noise and present faces, objects, text, and backgrounds with greater realism. Dynamic Tone Mapping Pro further enhances each scene by adjusting HDR effects and brightness on a frame-by-frame basis.
For added depth and clarity, AI Picture Pro brings out fine visual details, while AI Sound Pro creates an immersive 11.1.2-channel experience. The processor can even convert standard 2-channel content into virtual surround sound, separating dialogue from background noise for clearer vocals and anchoring the audio to the center of the screen.
On top of that, LG’s Brightness Booster Max technology increases screen brightness by up to three times compared to standard OLED panels, giving the M5 a serious edge in both SDR and HDR performance.
Home Cinema Excellence
The M5 elevates your home theater experience with Dolby Atmos immersive audio, Dolby Vision HDR, and Filmmaker Mode featuring Ambient Light Compensation for more accurate images in varying lighting conditions.
It has earned UL Solutions’ “Perfect Black” and “Perfect Color” verifications, plus certifications from Intertek guaranteeing 100% color fidelity and color volume. TÜV Rheinland’s “Perfect” grade confirms the M5 maintains clarity even in bright indoor settings.
Pro Tip: Like many LG models, the M5 is WiSA certified, enabling wireless connection to compatible speakers—another smart way to cut down on wire clutter in your setup.
Smart Features
The M5 also includes LG’s latest up to WebOS version 25, bringing more extensive personalized services and enhanced content powered by cutting-edge AI features. With continued updates over the next five years, webOS ensures a long-term, evolving user experience.

It All Boils Down to Eliminating Wire Clutter
With its flush-fit design and zero visible cables, the LG OLED evo M5 delivers a truly immersive entertainment experience that matches the performance of a wired setup—without the mess of wires.
From Park Hyoung-sei, president of the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company: “For 12 consecutive years, LG has led the global OLED TV market and we are opening a new era of television with our leadership in wireless TV,,,,,“The OLED evo M5 exemplifies our commitment to innovation and our pursuit of the ultimate in premium home entertainment.”

The Bottom Line
Building on the new “RGB Tandem” OLED panel technology developed by LG Display and first implemented in LG’s G5 series OLED TVs, the evo M5 takes it up a notch by combining the “guts” of the G5 with wireless video/audio transfer.
Ultimately the M5 is for those that want LG’s top-of-line OLED TV performance in a 77-inch screen size with wireless connectivity that eliminates the need for wires coming out of the TV. This allows extra components (cable boxes, blu-ray players, or game consoles) to be connected into the Zero Connect Box instead of the TV itself for a much cleaner setup.
While we don’t know the price, we can estimate that it will cost more the 77-inch LG G5 ($4,499). However, LG is also offering the same wireless concept in its lower priced QNED TV (model QNED9MA) for $2,299 in a 75-inch screen size.
Price & Availability
Price and availability are still forthcoming, but the 77-inch evo M5 product page is up for more information.
