At the last High End Munich Show, one of the best Hi-Fi demos might just happen to be offsite, because why limit yourself to the usual six-figure stereo systems crammed into windowless booths? This could be your chance to experience something a bit more, dare we say, genuine—like Munich’s vibrant nightlife and culture. Forget the typical show floor chaos and let your ears (and liver) enjoy something truly memorable. Who knows? You might even find that the city’s beer gardens offer better acoustics than some of those “ultra-high-end” setups.
Devon Turnbull, the mastermind behind OJAS, is hosting exclusive listening sessions with the Klipsch kO-R1 Limited Edition loudspeakers at RubenBenjamin Studio in Munich on May 16 and 17. From 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM each day, you’ll get a rare chance to hear Turnbull’s signature sound philosophy in a setup designed to let the speakers shine.
“Das ist wie ein Bratwurst ohne Senf – es mag funktionieren, aber es fehlt einfach etwas Wichtiges.”
And that, my friends, is exactly how this unique speaker might hit you—less about chasing measurements and more about hitting you right in the feels. While the show floor is full of $200,000 speakers made from indestructible nanotech and stones harder than your last relationship, this little gem isn’t here to impress the measurement crowd. It’s here to remind you that sometimes, the best things in life aren’t built to withstand a lab test—they’re built to make you feel something real.
And let’s just say, I owe some of that perspective to being raised in a house where German, Yiddish, and Polish weren’t just languages—they were a crash course in authenticity and finding the heart in the details.

Klipsch kO-R1 Limited Edition – For Audiophile Royalty (Or German Aristocrats, Really)
Yeah, we all did a double-take when we saw the price, but let’s be real—Klipsch and Devon Turnbull will have no problem moving every single pair of these. Klipsch has teamed up with Turnbull, the mastermind behind OJAS, and the result is the debut of the kO-R1 horn-loaded loudspeaker. It’s the perfect blend of minimalist design and bespoke craftsmanship, all wrapped up in the horn tech Klipsch has been perfecting for the last 75 years.
The kO-R1 pulls inspiration from the Klipsch Heresy, but with a sleek, modern twist. It’s got a multicell design and an enclosure crafted from butt-joined Baltic birch plywood—fancy, right? Then there’s the exposed biradial horn made of sand-cast aluminum.
Oh, and don’t forget the adjustable horn mount, anodized aluminum binding posts, and anti-vibration rubber feet. To really make you feel special, it even comes with a five-step high-frequency gain attenuator for precise sound tuning and a laser-engraved metal ID plate because, well, exclusivity.
Each limited edition kO-R1 comes with the Klipsch K-12 speaker stand to ensure optimal height and presentation. Choose between two finishes: Spiral Red Oak or Pewter Grey.

The price for those is ridiculous. Paying for the name.

Not as ridiculous as some of the brands charging $50,000 to $200,000 for some of their speakers. I’m pretty sure these will sell out much faster and not suck.

These things are Fugly ENC. Emperor’s New Crap. A turd is a turd regardless of whether it costs $200,000 a pair or $8,498 a pair. These speakers will be covered in flies in no time.
Mayhap Klipsch and Nothing can join farces to form “Klipschithing”?
As for the Poopsie Generation learning to earn and appreciate the normal things in life? I doubt it. They are morally bankrupt lemmings waiting for the latest SINFLUENCER (my own excellent portmanteau!) to lead them off yet another cliff into sloblivian.
These Brundleflies are more concerned with creating gnu genders to ASSign to themselves than they are creating a family. They live to be bitter not better and their pitiful raison d’etre is to be continuously BROFFENDED by normal folk. Personally I look forward to them being spirited away by midget clowns that live in porta-potties…I call this a variation on the them of the CRAPture. That’s were we all awaken to the sound of the Woke being flushed away.
Yeah. It is talent on loan from God.
I have owned multiple Klipsch speakers for many years. Not anymore and it has nothing to do with this aberration. But not buying any more does.
This KO-R1 looks like something Picasso sharted on a canvas. Fugly.

ORT,
“This KO-R1 looks like something Picasso sharted on a canvas. Fugly.”
I am going to go out on a limb and suggest that Klipsch might not use that in their advertising. Just a hunch on my part.
Having not heard them…I don’t know if they’re good or not. I do think the price is weird. And I can think of other speakers for $3,000 less that I know are superior.

Ian – I know beauty when I see it. When I hear it. And these things by Klipsch are far from beautiful. They are just weird and while I recall 40 some years ago being told to “close your eyes” when auditioning speakers at a mid-80s audio store, I just couldn’t do it as it seemed silly to me.
Focal makes some beautiful speakers. And headphones.
Klipsch makes nice, “purposeful” speakers but this pair of eyesores were made on purpose to be listened to with your eyes and your soul shut down tight.
“With a name like KO-R1, it just has to be okie-dokie.”
With that name and those looks it could be in a Star Wars spinoff as a Droid named KO-R1 paired with a hybrid Droid/Gungan, C-PNAJar. Yeah…How wude! Meesah know that wassa reeeel reacharound, huh?

ORTiwan,
“Back to pushing the rock up the hill. Messa soooo tired…”
Don’t tell anyone where I buried the Gungan. The name of the speaker is rather forgettable.
