HAI Wins Building and Design Industry Awards
HAI, the leading manufacturer of integrated security and home automation systems since 1985, recently won several prestigious building and design industry awards. HAI’s OmniTouch won the 2003 ADEX award for Design Excellence from Design Journal magazine and the Innovative Housing Technology Award from the National Association of Home Builders Research Center (NAHBRC) and EH Publishing. Additionally HAI’s OmniPro II was named as a 2004 Most Valuable Product (MVP) by Building Products magazine.
The OmniTouch is a colorful “plug and play” touchscreen interface for HAI’s Omni Family of integrated security and home automation controllers. Its responsive icons facilitate control of lights and small appliances, monitoring and adjustments of security and temperatures, including outdoor temperature and humidity, pool and spa temperatures, ventilation, decorative lighting and other items under control of the Omni-family system.
Previously, the OmniTouch won the CES Innovations 2003 Award in the Integrated Home Systems category, was named one of the Top Products of the Year by Home Automation magazine, won the Security Industry Association’s Product Achievement Award for Home Automation and was named one of CEPro Magazine’s High Impact Products of the Year.
In addition to being named 2004 MVP by Building Products magazine, the OmniPro II was named one of the Top Products of the year by Electronic House magazine, won the CES Innovations Award in the Integrated Home Systems category, garnered the Popular Mechanics Editor’s Choice Award, and was one of 20 products chosen by the readers of CEPro magazine as one of the High-Impact Products of the Year.
The OmniPro II is a sixth generation controller. It includes UL-Listed security, HVAC and lighting control for energy management, and the ease of telephone and Internet access and control. It also features three built-in serial ports, and an Ethernet port, for connection to additional home devices like touchscreens and infra-red controls for home theater, lighting controls and computers.
