Goldmund Unveils Telos 690 Integrated Stereo Amplifier 

At $36,250, the Goldmund Telos 690 Integrated Stereo Amplifier signifies a bold declaration in the pursuit of sound purity.

2024 has been a busy year for the luxury Swiss audio brand, Goldmund with the introduction of the Theia, Rhea, And Asteria Wireless Speakers, and Pulp + Hub Set Wireless Speaker System.

Following up with those announcements, Goldmund is adding a new integrated amplifier to its product line-up, the Telos 690.

Goldmund states that the Telos 690 is an amplifier that offers a bridge between traditional hi-fi and modern digital sources. Connections options include analog RCA, as well as digital USB Audio class 2.0, Toslink Optical, and Digital S/PDIF coaxial. 

Tech Note: The Telos 690 does not provide dedicated MM or MC phono inputs. Nor does it provide A/B speaker connections or switching.

Technology 

Telos Amplification technology significantly reduces intermodulation by improving the linearity of all stages and considerably decreasing the time distortion. Telos uses a higher bandwidth circuit with minimal group delay distortion inside the audio bandwidth.

The Telos amplifier input circuitry includes the latest version of Alize Digital/Analog converter circuits for enhanced coupling with the preamp section of the 690. Separate input and output stages prevent feedback between high and low current circuits and improve mechanical grounding.

Telos technology also provides driver control. This lowers the amplifier’s output impedance so that it provides a much higher quality of micro-dynamics and helps large woofers avoid overshooting and overloading your listening space with too much bass information. This means that the Telos 690 can drive any high-end passive speaker system, unleashing its full potential, for convenient high-fidelity sound, without compromise. 

The Telos 690 incorporates a dual 350 VA Toroidal Power Transformer and a massive 46,000 µF capacitor bank. This combination ensures that the Telos 690 can deliver enhanced dynamics, response, and clarity for exceptional auditory experience. 

With a maximum output power of 2 x 250 Wrms on 8 Ω and 2 x 320 Wrms on 4 Ω, the Telos 690 can drive any high-end passive floor-standing speaker system to its full potential, promising an immersive listening experience.

As with all Goldmund products, the Telos 690 is crafted with attention to detail and reflects Goldmund’s commitment to precision mechanics. The upgraded panel structure enhances the mechanical grounding and vibration dispersion capabilities of the amp. It also comes in Goldmund’s custom-designed, robust flight case. Goldmund isn’t just about style, but substance, too.
