FotoDialer Makes Phone Calls by Pictures

Device Helps Elderly Dial Telephone by Using Photos

Cell phones are great for a lot of people, but they become very difficult to use for those with poor eyesight, fading memory or problems with remembering number sequences. A telephone accessory called FotoDialer empowers senior citizens to regain use of their home telephone without having to know or remember the number to dial. The innovative device connects to any home telephone. FotoDialer allows the user to thumb through one of six pages of photographs for the desired place to call. The call is placed as simply as touching a button next to the photograph of the person or place, and FotoDialer automatically dials the call.

“We installed the FotoDialer for my elderly in-laws,” said Moana W., an early user of the FotoDialer. “Grandpa takes care of Grandma, who is very forgetful. When Grandpa fell, Grandma was able to get to the phone, use the FotoDialer and get help. She said if she hadn’t had the FotoDialer, she would have been unable to remember numbers and (was) too shaky to dial the phone. FotoDialer has literally been a lifesaver.”

FotoDialer served its purpose by allowing Grandma to turn to the page with emergency numbers, touch one button next to the “911” picture, and be immediately connected to emergency response.

“Those responsible for seniors know that worrisome incidents will happen,” says Son Le, inventor of FotoDialer. “With every fall or strange noise, with every concern your loved one has, reaching emergency services, medical services or contacting you is vital. FotoDialer is the tool seniors need. Home phones and cell phones just don’t work for those with shaky hands, poor vision or faulty memories.”

FotoDialer is designed for simplicity of use. The format is intuitive with photo album pages that accommodate up to 24 wallet-sized (2×3-inch) pictures. The large buttons next to each picture allow the user to immediately contact emergency numbers, family, friends or neighbors.
