Make Your Next Flight a Quiet One With The Solitude Noise-Canceling Headphones

Compact headphones provide exceptional silence and comfort when traveling

(PINEVILLE, N.C. — June 15, 2005) — Silence is a precious commodity when traveling. For those who appreciate a good dose of peace and quiet, Outside the Box, Inc. introduces the new Solitude headphones, the latest in active noise reduction technology.

Designed by a former commercial airline pilot, the Solitude headphones give travelers the ultimate in performance, comfort and convenience. The headphones exceed 20 decibels of active noise cancellation. By identifying and blocking out distracting ambient noise, consumers can enjoy music or silence wherever they are. The Solitude’s full size ear cups, ergonomically designed with more than 90 degrees swivel motion, ensure a proper fit and provide additional passive noise cancellation. The headphones also feature 40 mm Rare Earth Neodymium in-ear cup drivers that offer a high level of audio reproduction, with volume that can be easily adjusted from the left ear cup.

“The Solitude feels and fits as well as it performs,” said David Dillinger, executive vice president of Outside the Box and designer of the Solitude headphones. “The bass response on these headphones will please the pickiest of audiophiles, while its noise cancellation technology soothes the most discriminating silence seekers. Its sleek design and luxuriously padded vinyl ear cushions make it an ideal choice for a variety of high-decibel environments, from airplanes and subways to coal mines and construction sites.”

With a total weight of less than 8 ounces, the Solitude can be worn comfortably for extended periods of time. Battery life is approximately 35 hours, providing extended operating time that is perfect for long days and international travel.

The headphones can be conveniently collapsed when not in use, reducing it to one-third its normal size. When audio functions are not in use, the cable can be detached, providing for increased mobility.

Technical specifications of the Solitude include:
• Frequency response: 20-20,000 Hz
• Impedance: 32 Ohm
• Sensitivity at IKHz: 115 dB (off), 121 dB (on)
• Weight: 7.8 oz
• Cord length: 1.5 m

The Solitude comes with a limited lifetime warranty and includes a carrying case, two AAA batteries, detachable cable, 1/8-inch stereo pin, dual pin and 1/4-inch adapters. BoomerangIt return and reward service is also included. The Solitude is now available at ProTravelGear.com, MSRP $199. For more information, visit www.solitudeheadsets.com or call 704-583-1100.
