Eversolo is back with the T8, its first streaming transport, and this time they’ve yanked the DAC out of the box. Smart move. If you already own a serious DAC—or an amp with solid digital inputs—the T8 just bolts on modern streaming brains without forcing you into a sound signature you didn’t ask for.
What you do get is Eversolo’s real strength: a control app that actually works and doesn’t make you want to throw your phone across the room. Under the hood, the T8 is built for clean, stable digital output with isolated connections and an ultra-precise clock, so the signal stays tight no matter which DAC you decide to trust.
And let’s be real—Eversolo could use a win right now. A leading British hi-fi magazine recently lit their new Play streaming amplifier on fire (metaphorically, sadly), while YouTube reviewers were practically ready to propose marriage to it. The T8 feels like Eversolo leaning into what they’re genuinely good at: rock-solid streaming software and giving you the freedom to shape the sound however you like.
Design, Connectivity, and Codecs: Under the Hood of Eversolo’s T8 Streaming Transport
The T8 greets you with a dominating 6-inch touchscreen front and center—because apparently, smaller screens are for peasants. It handles everything: app selection, playback, settings, and more, all housed in a minimalist aluminium chassis. Eversolo even bothered to shield the interior circuitry from both itself and outside electromagnetic mischief—so your music doesn’t suddenly start sounding like a modem handshake from 1997.
Eversolo didn’t skimp on options. You get AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz, Deezer, Presto Music, IDAGIO, Amazon Music, TuneIn Radio, internet radio, DLNA, and LAN for local storage. Apple Music hi-res? Check. Third-party apps you can download directly? Check. Everything you loved in the DMP-A10 but without a DAC shouting “trust me, I know best.”
Equipped with an SFP fiber network port and a standard RJ45 Gigabit LAN connection, the T8 keeps data flowing cleanly and reliably. The SFP port provides full electrical isolation, shielding against electromagnetic interference, so your high-end system gets stable, jitter-free streaming.
The T8’s IIS port is fully isolated to block electromagnetic interference and crosstalk, delivering a clean, undisturbed audio signal. With support for 8 different IIS output modes, it works seamlessly with a wide range of DACs and decoding architectures, giving audiophiles the flexibility to craft their ideal system without compromise.
It’s Wi-Fi 6 ready and Roon Certified, so it plays nicely with modern networks and serious libraries alike. Basically, if your hi-fi is lonely, the T8 is ready to make friends.
The T8 packs a quad-core ARM processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage—enough firepower to keep streaming smooth while you fiddle with settings and apps. Timing is handled by an ultra-precise femtosecond clock (one quadrillionth of a second for those keeping score at home), which minimizes jitter and keeps your audio focused and clean.
Power comes from a “super-silent” linear supply, isolated from the digital side, and USB outputs are further protected from noise when connecting to an external DAC. Translation: the T8 doesn’t let your electricity do weird things to your music.
All outputs are digital: AES/EBU, optical, and coaxial. The T8 handles PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz and DSD512, though coaxial is capped at 24-bit/192kHz. Two SSD slots hold up to 16TB of music (2 x 8TB), letting you build a library large enough to make a streaming service nervous.
Room correction is built in and can use a dedicated mic or your phone, because Eversolo knows some rooms are acoustically tragic. Everything is controllable via the included remote or the Eversolo Control app, which—finally—actually works as advertised.
The T8’s built-in 10-band PEQ lets you fine-tune frequencies, gain, and Q values to match your room’s acoustics, ensuring optimal sound. It also supports FIR filter import, loudness control, and dynamic compression, giving you professional-grade tools to shape a natural, balanced listening experience without leaving anything to chance.
No DAC? No problem. The T8 is designed to let your own DAC do the heavy lifting while Eversolo handles the streaming. After a rough month of critical scorched-earth reviews for the Play streamer (looking at you, British hi-fi press) versus YouTube reviewers swooning, the T8 feels like a subtle, slightly smug course correction: deliver top-tier streaming, leave the tonal shaping to the user, and let the hardware speak for itself.

The Bottom Line
The Eversolo T8 is all about precision and flexibility. Its ultra-quiet linear power supply, femtosecond clock, and fully isolated outputs keep the digital signal clean, while a raft of connectivity options—including Wi-Fi 6, Gigabit LAN, SFP fiber, and every major streaming protocol—make it a versatile hub for any system. Supported codecs run the gamut from PCM 768kHz/32-bit to DSD512, and the well-designed control app keeps it all under your command.
The real beauty? The T8 leaves the tonal shaping to your DAC of choice—whether you’re pairing it with a $500 workhorse or a $50,000 monster, you get to decide the sound, not Eversolo. Clean, precise, and unapologetically flexible.
Pre-orders are open now at $1380 (£1199 / €1380)—so if you’ve been waiting for a transport that respects your DAC addiction, this is it.

Interesting about the Play being a sonic dud? After reading your comment, I found the review you cited and it was very negative.
Hopefully, the T8 offers a good platform for those who already own a DAC they like.
The WiiM Ultra still feels like a much better deal.

IMO the Eversolo T1 appears better than the WiiM Ultra in at least 3 areas: 1) 16 GB of SSD internal storage availability vs zero; 2) USB out is 768Hz/32-bit vs 192/24 (plus I2S & AES out); 3) Fantastic interface/app. I’ve test driven the A8 & the app is truly great! The WU however does have an HDMI port (if that’s important to you). The T1 seems like a really good option for someone looking for a dedicated streamer/server transport. The next step up for me would be the new Innuos Stream1 with LPS, but at well over 2x the price…
