Epson Launches LifeStudio Projectors with Bose Audio, 5 New Models Revealed

Epson brings a new focus to lifestyle projectors with its new LifeStudio line featuring five models (including a new UST) with prices ranging from $680 to $2,500.

Epson Lifestudio Projectors

People are glued to their personal devices, but Epson is betting some memories are best made on the big screen. The company has unveiled its refreshed LifeStudio line of portable and lifestyle projectors, designed for family, friends, and shared experiences. These aren’t just any projectors—they’re the world’s first to feature Sound by Bose. The lineup includes five models across three distinct body styles, blending portability with premium audio and visual performance.

From portable to ultra short-throw, every LifeStudio projector is built with purpose. Each features a custom Bose-designed audio system, Epson’s latest 3LCD projection technology, and Google TV for seamless access to apps. For the first time, the Epson Projection Studio app for iOS and Android lets you create and project personalized, interactive experiences with ease.

From Rodrigo Catalan, Group Product Manager at Epson America, Inc.: “Epson Lifestudio is purposefully crafted to bring people together – helping to capture, share, and relive life’s most meaningful moments. Because the best memories aren’t just seen, they’re shared,…Lifestudio introduces more than just innovative technology; collaborating with the Bose team, Lifestudio projectors represent both incredible visuals and detailed audio for a truly immersive entertainment experience that brings people together.”

Epson LifeStudio Pop & Flex Series: Portable Projectors with Bose Audio and Google TV

epsons-lifestudio-pop-and-flex

The LifeStudio personal and portable projectors include four models: Flex, Flex Plus, Pop, and Pop Plus. These sleek, versatile projectors combine modern design with Epson’s 3-chip 3LCD Triple Core Engine, delivering bright 4K PRO-UHD or Full HD images—depending on the model—up to 150 inches. The Flex and Flex Plusmodels also include a tiltable built-in stand and ambient lighting for flexible setup and enhanced viewing.

Pro Tip: Epson’s LifeStudio projectors, including the Grand (covered below), do not use quad pixel shifting, which is required for true 4K display. Instead, Epson’s Pro UHD-labeled models rely on dual pixel shift—2 × 1080p images combined for 4.1 million displayed pixels, roughly half of full 4K resolution. The LS9000, Epson’s first projector in this line with quad pixel shift and 8.3 million addressable pixels, delivers genuine 4K and carries a $4,000 price tag.

Epson EpiqSense 2.0: Advanced Auto Calibration and Room Optimization for LifeStudio Projectors

The Epson LifeStudio projector line features EpiqSense 2.0 auto-setup, delivering fast, precise focus, color calibration, and alignment for effortless setup and optimized image performance.

The LifeStudio projectors are also gaming-ready, delivering smooth, responsive gameplay. The Flex Plus and Pop Plus models include Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) for reduced input lag and a more immersive gaming experience.

Sound by Bose

Sound by Bose technology brings premium audio to the Epson LifeStudio lineup, ensuring tight synchronization between audio and visuals. Co-engineered by Bose and Epson, these systems deliver rich, balanced sound that immerses everyone in the action.

Pro Tip: Along with Sound by BoseHDMI-eARC supports Dolby Atmos and DTS pass-through (external decoding and amplification required).

Epson LifeStudio Grand: Premium 4K PRO-UHD Projector with Bose Audio and EpiqSense 2.0

Epson LifeStudio Grand UST Projector

At the top of the LifeStudio lineup, the Grand Ultra Short Throw delivers stunning visuals, seamless streaming, and Sound by Bose technology for room-filling audio with deep bass, no external system required (though one can be connected).

As an Ultra Short Throw projector, the Grand can project an image up to 120 inches from just inches away from a screen or wall.

The projector uses Epson’s 3-chip 3LCD imaging technology with 4K PRO-UHD, which combines dual 1080p pixel shifting for a projected resolution higher than 1080p but half of true 4K, supported by advanced video processing.

With 4K PRO-UHD and HDR10 picture processing, the Grand delivers enhanced detail, vibrant colors, and deep contrast without compromising brightness. Powered by advanced 3-chip 3LCD technology, it produces bright, vivid, true-to-life images in any lighting. Four specially tuned sound modes let users select the perfect audio profile to bring every scene to life.

From Nick Smith, President of the Audio Technology Business and Chief Strategy Officer at Bose. “For over 60 years, delivering incredible audio experiences has been at the heart of everything we do at Bose,…We’re thrilled to partner with Epson and bring our audio expertise to their Lifestudio lineup. By combining their immersive viewing experience with our exceptional sound, we’re taking home entertainment to the next level – and I can’t wait for customers everywhere to experience it.”

Epson Projection Studio App

Designed for the LifeStudio projector family, the Epson Projection Studio app for iOS and Android offers a new way to create and share content. Users can project personalized videos and images to bring favorite moments to the big screen, connecting friends and family.

The app also allows remote participation via a secure QR code or online link, letting those who can’t attend in person view and share content. In addition, it provides convenient projector control, including navigation, volume adjustment, playback, and more.

The Bottom Line

Epson, the market leader in video projectors, reinforces its dominance with the new 2025 LifeStudio lineup, replacing the EF21 and EF22 models. The five models across three body styles—Pop, Flex, and Grand—cover casual dark-room use, versatile compact setups, and ultra-short-throw large-image projection.

Featuring Sound by Bose, Google TV, Screen Mirroring, and optional wireless mics, these projectors combine premium audio-visual performance with convenience.

In the past year, Epson has released several new projector models, including the high-end Q-Series, midrange LS9000, and the modestly-priced Home Cinema and Pro EX 1080p projectors

Against competitors like LG, Hisense, XGIMI, and lower-quality knockoffs, Epson’s LifeStudio projectors deliver reliable brightness, true-to-spec performance, and intuitive features, making them the clear choice for anyone seeking a lifestyle projector that performs as promised.
