Dutch & Dutch isn’t wasting any time reminding the industry why Rotterdam remains one of the most forward-thinking hubs in loudspeaker design. After the 8c reset expectations in 2022, the company returns for 2025 with the 6c — a more compact active speaker built around the next phase of its spatial-audio ambitions.
With integrated BACCH processing now front and center, the 6c leans into a new wave of technological refinements aimed at improving imaging, immersion, and room-independent accuracy. Previewed at the 2025 Warsaw Audio/Video Show, it delivers the same disciplined engineering and clean industrial aesthetic Dutch & Dutch is known for, now sharpened for a generation that expects true 3D playback without the setup headaches.
“Our first product, the Dutch & Dutch 8c, achieved worldwide recognition. It has received numerous awards and is praised by reviewers, professionals, and music lovers alike as one of the most innovative loudspeakers of its generation. With our new Dutch & Dutch 6c, we’ve taken that same foundation and carried it into a more compact form. It isn’t a ‘lite’ version, but a true Dutch & Dutch speaker designed with one goal: to bring music to life with authenticity, innovation, and effortless musicality” explained Martijn Mensink, Founder of Dutch & Dutch

What the Dutch & Dutch 6c Brings to the Table
The 6c was created for listeners who loved what the 8c delivered but needed something physically smaller and easier to place without sacrificing the experience. It’s essentially the same design philosophy distilled into a more flexible footprint — the kind of speaker you can fit into real-world rooms without giving up the performance Dutch & Dutch is known for.
Like the 8c, the 6c is a fully powered, fully networked speaker system with onboard amplification, built-in streaming, and RoomMatching to tune the speaker to its environment rather than the other way around. Spotify Connect and Roon are supported at launch, with TIDAL and Qobuz support rolling out later. The entire system runs on the Dutch & Dutch Ascend hardware-software platform, controlled through the company’s dedicated app.
And unlike many “smaller sibling” launches, BACCH spatial audio is available from day one, reinforcing that the 6c isn’t a watered-down model — it’s a continuation of the brand’s push toward precise, room-independent spatial playback.

Expandable
The 6c is also designed as the front half of a larger, modular system. Dutch & Dutch will introduce the optional 6s bass module in 2026, turning the 6c into a full-range cardioid system with serious dynamic headroom and far deeper, tighter bass performance.
Paired together, the 6c/6s combination pushes RoomMatching even further, improves control over floor reflections, and extends the speaker’s cardioid behavior across the entire frequency range — something very few systems can claim at any size.
Dutch & Dutch says the 6c exists because listeners kept asking for the 8c’s realism and authority in a footprint that wouldn’t require a full reorganization of their living space. The design is intentionally clean, compact, and unobtrusive, but still backed by matched amplification, integrated streaming, and the company’s RoomMatching engine to ensure the speaker adapts to the room rather than fight it.
Pro Tip: If you prefer a floor-mounted setup over shelves or furniture, a dedicated standmount option from Dutch & Dutch is on the way.

The Bottom Line
The wireless speaker market is crowded from every angle — from budget picks like Audioengine’s HD3, Kanto’s REN, and ELAC’s Debut ConneX DCB61, all the way up to heavy hitters like the KEF LS50 Wireless II, Triangle CAPPELA 2, and JBL’s 4329P. Dutch & Dutch sits in a very different lane. The 6c isn’t trying to win a value shootout. It’s an ultra-high-end, purpose-built system that starts north of $10,000 and only climbs once the forthcoming 6s bass module enters the picture. That price is going to give plenty of people heartburn, and rightfully so.
But here’s the thing: Dutch & Dutch isn’t playing the same game as the competition. The 6c brings the company’s holistic “speaker + room + listener” approach into a more compact design, backed by matched amplification, full network streaming, their Ascend platform, and RoomMatching. And now, BACCH spatial audio is part of the package from day one — a major differentiator in a category where most wireless speakers still focus on convenience over genuine spatial performance.
If the 8c was any indication; and our 2022 review made that clear — Dutch & Dutch doesn’t release half-baked hardware. The 6c looks like a continuation of that philosophy: serious engineering, real acoustic innovation, and spatial tools that go far beyond what KEF, Kanto, Triangle, JBL, or anyone else in this segment is offering right now.
The price is steep, sure. But the technology stack and performance trajectory justify why the 6c is shaping up to be one of the most compelling high-end powered speakers of 2025.
