DPCI and Cabengo Launch New Web Publishing Platform for New York University Medical Centers Department of Pathology

New York, NY December 17, 2007 — DPCI, a provider of integrated technology solutions for organizations that need to publish content to Web, print, and mobile channels, today announced that it teamed up with Cabengo LLC, an award-winning creative studio, to design and deploy a new Web site for New York University Medical Center’s Department of Pathology. Together the agencies worked with the Department of Pathology to deliver an intuitive Web site and collaborative publishing system powered by Drupal’s Content Management System (CMS).

The NYU Department of Pathology is one of the largest departments within the NYU Medical Center, with physicians practicing at respective local care centers such as the Tisch Hospital, Bellevue Medical Center, The Hospital for Joint Disease and The VA Medical Center. Led by Chairman David B. Roth, M.D., Ph.D., the Department of Pathology provides and promotes the latest education, research, and patient care information to the pathology world.

With the new Drupal-based CMS platform in place, the Department of Pathology now has a dynamic Web publishing system that enables over 160 faculty members to post research and scholarly works, as well as all other types of patient care information. DPCI customized Drupal with a range of easy-to-use publishing features and templates to make it extremely easy to add and update new content on the site.

“In working with Dr. Roth and his team at the Department of Pathology, we eliminated the technical aspects of publishing content online, and opened up new opportunities for the users to develop a vast resource and knowledge base for a broad range of audiences,” added Tracy Gardner, Vice President Client Services at DPCI. “Utilizing the Drupal CMS, the Department of Pathology can support their triple mission of delivering education, research, and patient care within the field of pathology.”

As part of the project, DPCI customized the Drupal CMS with an enhanced search capability. This allows visitors to find people, publications, and other material on the site with ease. Additionally, DPCI implemented a “Wiki” collaboration tool that allows glossary content to be revised and edited by authorized faculty and staff.

“Working with Cabengo and DPCI has enabled us to utilize cutting edge technology without complexity and empowers the entire team at the Department of Pathology with new tools to deliver insightful research, patient information, and educational programs,” Dr. Roth added. “The new site rocks.”
