Denon is on hand at the 2022 High-end Munich Audio Show with a trio of products, including its DCD-900NE CD player, and PMA-1700NE traditional Integrated Amplifier. However, another product that Denon hopes will attract a lot of interest is the debut of the Denon PMA-900HNE. This marks the first Integrated Amplifier from Denon that incorporates network streaming and HEOS-based whole-house audio features.
Integrated Amplifier
As an integrated amplifier, the PMA-900HNE provides the following:
Amplifier Type: Advanced High Current Single Ended Push-Pull.
Power Output: 50 watts x 2 (8 ohms, 20hz to 20khz, .07% THD), 85 watts x 2 (4 ohms, 1 khz, .7% THD)
Source Direct: This feature allows you to optimize the quality of analog audio sources by turning off unneeded digital audio input and processing features of the PMA-900HNE to eliminate any interference that may affect analog audio quality.
Premium DAC: This optimizes digital-to-analog audio conversion for the best possible listening quality for your speakers or headphones.
EQ Settings: Bass, Treble
Speaker Terminals (A/B): The PMA-900HNE incorporates two-channel amplification, but you can connect two sets of speakers, and switch between them, or power all four at once.
Inputs: Phono (1 – with built-in MM and MC equalizer), RCA Line In (3), Optical (3), Coaxial (1), Headphone (1 – front panel with automatic speaker shut-off), USB Type-A (1).
TV Audio Standby: This feature enables the PMA-900HNE to detect an incoming digital signal source (such as from the digital optical feed from a TV) and automatically turn the amplifier on.
Audio Output: An analog RCA audio output is provided for connection to a tape deck or compatible device.
Subwoofer Output: This allows the connection of a wired-powered subwoofer to enable a 2.1 channel setup.
Digital Media File/Hi-Res Audio Support: MP3, WMA, AAC and WAV, FLAC HD, ALAC, AIFF (up to 192-kHz/24bit), and DSD (up to 5.6-MHz).
Control: Wireless remote, front panel controls, and access to the Denon/HEOS remote control app (iOS, Android).
Network/Streaming Features
In addition to its integrated amplifier duties, the PMA-900HNE includes the following network/streaming support.
Connectivity: Ethernet and Wi-Fi built-in
Denon HEOS Built-in: This allows the PMA-900HNE to stream music to other HEOS-branded wireless speakers, as well as access a wide selection of music streaming services.
Streaming Service Support: Pandora, Spotify/Spotify Connect, Amazon Music, TuneIn, Deezer, Soundcloud, Tidal, and more.
Local Device Streaming: Bluetooth, Apple Airplay 2
Voice Control Options: Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple Siri Voice Control
Pricing & Availability
The Denon PMA-900HNE Integrated Amplifier will be available in Black or Silver with an MSRP of $949 at Amazon (USD) sometime in July 2022.

Is it any wonder that sleep escapes me this morning? Denon’s PMA-900HNE is stunning in both its simplicity of classic looks and excellent and functional feature set.
