CuPhone Announces RJ11 Phone Adaptor-Dual for Skype

SAN JOSE, Calif, Oct. 6, 2005 – CuPhone today announced its RJ11 Phone Adaptor-Dual. This small adaptor, when plugged into the USB port of a PC, allows the user to plug his regular phone into the RJ11 port on the RJ11 Phone Adaptor-Dual to make and receive either Skype or normal landline calls.

Virtually everybody that uses Skype also makes and receives normal telephone calls. CuPhone’s RJ11 Phone Adaptor-Dual enables all types of calls to be handled using one piece of equipment and this piece of equipment can be, for example, the cordless phone that was the users preferred phone before Skype even existed. Also with the CuPhone adaptor, family members on different phone extensions can be on landline and Skype calls simultaneously, effectively providing a second phone line at no cost.

Skype has attracted more than 47 million users around the world who use the service while they’re sitting at their PCs. They have lowered their phone bills but the price has been inconvenience. CuPhone’s adaptor eliminates the inconvenience and the clutter caused by having phone equipment dedicated to making and receiving Skype calls.

The CuPhone’s RJ11 Phone adaptor-Dual plugs into the user’s phone and the USB port of his or her PC, allowing it to be used from country to country without worrying about compatibility with different wall sockets. The product supports Skype caller ID as well as Skype speed dialing, and incorporates state-of-the-art echo-cancellation technology for audio clarity. No network configuration, change in firewall or router settings, or external power supply is required. Power is provided by the USB port of the user’s PC.

The CuPhone’s RJ11 Phone adaptor-Dual supports Win XP, 2K, ME, 98, MAC and Linux. Unit can be purchased for $39 from CuPhone web site http://www.cuphone.com.
