Unlocked budget smartphone shoppers have a new option from BLU Products to consider. The BLU VIVO 8L is designed for selfie aficionados thanks to its 20-megapixel front camera with flash. Other features include a 5.3-inch HD (1280 x 720) 277ppi display with curved Corning Gorilla Glass, Fingerprint Sensor, and a 13-megapixel rear camera. The $150 Android phone won’t win a spec war, but could be acceptable for everyday use.
Oddly, Blu has chosen a confusing naming convention. The VIVO 8L is smaller in size and less powerful than Blu’s flagship 2017 model VIVO 8 (without the L) that costs $100 more.
The BLU VIVO 8L is powered by the 64-bit MediaTek 6753 chipset that offers 1.3GHz Octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM to be able to run multiple apps simultaneously, quickly browse the web, or enjoy smooth rendering of graphics. 32GB of built in internal memory for all your storage needs. Add on another 64GB with the external MicroSD slot for maximum capacity.
The BLU VIVO 8L’s 20-megapixel Super Selfie camera offers F/2.0 aperture and 1/2.8 inch sensor with 5P lens which provides more clarity for selfies. The 4-cell technology used allows 4 times the amount of incoming light to take the best pictures in low-light conditions. The rear 13-megapixel camera comes with a Sony IMX258 sensor, F/2.0 aperture, 1/3 inch sensor with 5P lens, real-time HDR, and Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) with Laser Focus for twice the focus rate and accuracy.
