Bang & Olufsen doesn’t do boring—or cheap. The Danish design house is back with another sculptural showpiece, the Beosound Premiere Soundbar, a sleeker, more refined follow-up to the Beosound Theatre that delivers much of the same engineering firepower at roughly half the price. Featuring Dolby Atmos and B&O’s new Wide Stage Technology for an expanded, more immersive sound field, the Premiere blends cinematic performance with gallery-worthy aesthetics. Just don’t get any ideas about “shrinking” your own soundbar design—some companies are a little touchy about that.
According to Kristian Teär, CEO of Bang & Olufsen, the new model “transcends the conventional soundbar; it’s a sculptural masterpiece and a bold expression of acoustic artistry. Sculpted from our signature aluminium, it embodies Bang & Olufsen’s century-long heritage of pioneering audio innovation in harmony with timeless design. This is not merely a product; it is a curated experience… transforming sound into an emotional encounter and the soundbar into a piece of art.”

The Design: Turning the Soundbar into Sculptural Art
The body of the Beosound Premiere is sculpted from pure aluminum, crafted through a close collaboration between Bang & Olufsen’s in-house design team and the precision engineers at Factory 5 in Struer, Denmark. The speaker drivers are intentionally showcased rather than hidden, reflecting B&O’s long-standing philosophy of designing from the inside out—and from the outside in.
The seamless aluminum chassis is pearl-blasted to achieve a matte satin finish, while the structure itself relies on precise alignment of extruded aluminum and cut end caps to maintain a slim, architectural profile. Despite its compact appearance, the frame accommodates ten speaker drivers with exacting precision.
At the center sits an up-firing tweeter—a subtle but distinctive design feature. Its surface includes 1,925 laser-cut perforations, a deliberate nod to the year Bang & Olufsen was founded and a quiet tribute to a century of Danish craftsmanship and engineering discipline.

The Spatial Sound Twist: Wide Stage Technology Redefines Dolby Atmos
The Beosound Premiere is designed to deliver high-fidelity spatial sound that elevates home cinema and music immersion well beyond the typical soundbar experience. It uses ten custom-engineered drivers, including an up-firing center driver that adds vertical dimension and depth, allowing sound to unfold naturally around the listener. The result is precise dialogue, detailed imaging, and surprisingly powerful bass that fills the room without distortion.
At the core of this performance is Bang & Olufsen’s new Wide Stage Technology, a proprietary signal-processing system developed specifically for the Beosound Premiere. It creates the illusion of added external speakers by expanding the soundstage both horizontally and vertically—making the soundbar’s physical limits disappear. All ten drivers work in sync to generate a spacious, room-filling presentation that feels cinematic yet controlled.
The soundbar also adapts to its environment using onboard acoustic analysis to optimize playback for the room. For users building a larger system, Beolink Surround enables the integration of additional Bang & Olufsen speakers. With a fully integrated Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 decoder, the Beosound Premiere scales seamlessly into a full surround setup, offering an even deeper and more immersive listening experience.
LED Light Show: Dynamic Illumination Meets Bang & Olufsen Craftsmanship
No, the Beosound Premiere isn’t a party speaker, but it does feature a subtle, interactive design element that adds a touch of personality. Inside the soundbar, 90 responsive LEDs create a soft, ambient glow that shifts as you adjust settings or change modes. The illumination isn’t just decorative—it’s meant to establish a tactile connection between the listener and the product, reinforcing the idea that sound and design should respond to human interaction, not just fill a room.
Beocare
The Beosound Premiere is built for long-term ownership—something you’d expect given its nearly $6,000 price tag. Bang & Olufsen supports that investment with ongoing firmware updates tied to its Cradle to Cradle Certified Bronze sustainability designation, ensuring the product evolves over time. Buyers who register through Beocare also receive a five-year warranty, extending peace of mind and reinforcing B&O’s commitment to longevity over planned obsolescence.
There’s Just One More Thing…

To celebrate the launch of the Beosound Premiere, Bang & Olufsen’s Atelier team has created a special Haute Edition, limited to just 25 pieces worldwide. This version highlights the soundbar’s sculptural form with a precision-milled pattern that radiates outward from the central slot, wrapping the entire chassis in flowing grooves that mimic the movement of sound waves. The pattern catches light and invites touch, giving the soundbar a dynamic sense of motion and energy—turning an already striking design into something truly kinetic.
According to Bang & Olufsen, the pattern is achieved through a meticulous 17-hour milling process, where a spinning blade carves delicate grooves into raw aluminum, creating a visual echo of the soundbar’s expansive acoustic performance. The result is a seamless fusion of art and engineering—a soundbar that looks as intricate as it sounds.

Each unit in this limited series is individually engraved and numbered (1 of 25), accompanied by a limited-edition Beoremote One presented in a handcrafted wooden box, along with a certificate of authenticity—a final reminder that in the world of Bang & Olufsen, sound and sculpture have always been one and the same.

The Bottom Line
The Beosound Premiere may be the “affordable” option in Bang & Olufsen’s soundbar lineup, but let’s be honest—$5,800 is still rarefied air for most living rooms. Yet, it earns its price tag with precision engineering, a smaller and more flexible form factor, and the debut of Wide Stage Technology, B&O’s latest take on immersive spatial audio.
Compared to the flagship Beosound Theatre, the Premiere delivers most of the same firepower, just in a more compact design that better fits sub-40-inch installations—while the Theatre still pairs best with oversized Bang & Olufsen OLED TVs.
In this ultra-premium category, B&O faces competition from heavyweights like Steinway Lyngdorf’s Model S ($17,000) and Canvas Hi-Fi (starting at $5,000)—though the latter is currently tied up in a legal tangle with Bang & Olufsen. So yes, the Beosound Premiere costs a small fortune, but it’s still the most accessible way to own a piece of B&O’s century-long fusion of design, innovation, and spatial sound artistry—lawsuits and all.
