AVAD Inks Distribution Agreement with Key Digital Systems

Ft. Lauderdale, FL — July 28, 2005 — AVAD, the preeminent American distributor of complete home entertainment and lifestyle convenience systems, is pleased to announce it signed a distribution agreement with Key Digital Systems. Effective immediately, AVAD will begin national distribution of the brand’s wide range of digital video connectivity products. With access to Key Digital Systems’ high-performance products, AVAD dealers can now integrate a wide variety of high-tech audiovisual components into a single, user-friendly entertainment system.

AVAD dealers will now have access to video processors, switchers, distribution amplifiers, video adapters, digital cables and accessories that effectively and economically link HDTV and SDTV components that are individually manufactured to diverging specifications. By enabling otherwise-incompatible equipment to “talk” to each other, Key Digital Systems’ products give AVAD’s electronic systems contractors greater freedom to specify the ideal products for any installation with confidence that all will integrate to provide the total entertainment experience essential to a successful project.

“As with the impact of flatscreen televisions, HDTV is proving itself to be a lasting technology propelled by a growing consumer interest,” said Bob Gartland, president of AVAD. “Key Digital’s products make it easier for our dealers to design the perfect home audio & video entertainment system no matter which video displays or sources they or their customers prefer. .As consumers’ expectations become more sophisticated, their demands for better performance from the technology increases. Key Digital’s connectivity products not only ensure compatibility between a wider range of advanced video components, their patented image processing technology ensures that the picture quality is unparalleled.”

The new agreement will introduce Key Digital’s products to more regional markets throughout the U.S. and will enhance the company’s presence within the builder and integrator markets. Michael Lakhter, vice president of sales at Key Digital Systems, sees great synergy in the new partnership. “Joining AVAD means a lot more than adding new channels of distribution. AVAD’s training and support are second to none, so we know that their dealers not only have access to the right products for their installations, they’ll know how to get the best performance out of each product. We’re especially excited to be a part of AVAD with CEDIA approaching, because we’re going to roll out a newly expanded product line that includes HDMI switchers, distribution amplifiers, and video processors. It’s a variety that complements the top-brand video displays and sources already offered by AVAD.”

The increasing demand for HDTV has helped build Key Digital’s growth in recent years. The company’s most recent innovations, such as the HD Hanna, Digital Blaster and Digital Magic, have won key industry awards and are playing an integral role in enhancing the role of high-definition video within the home.
