Auralex Brings Acoustics Home for Hit TV Show Designing Spaces

Auralex Showcases How Acoustics Can Improve Sound Quality While Not Compromising Home Decor

Designing Spaces, the hit TV show produced by Quorum Productions that airs on TLC and Women’s Entertainment Network, invited Auralex Acoustics, the industry leader in innovative sound control solutions, to be a part of the show’s upcoming 100th episode. Auralex helps educate the show’s viewers on how they can easily and affordably improve home sound quality through acoustical treatments; a subject Auralex knows quite a bit about.

While the company’s products are typically used in professional recording environments, Auralex is showcasing how its products can also create outstanding home acoustics as well.

As part of the ten-minute television segment, Auralex will provide a tutorial on how isolation can greatly increase sound quality, in not only a designated home theater but in any room of the house. Homeowners can purchase the most expensive and high-end equipment, but without the proper acoustical treatments the sound quality will be lost through the natural reflection of sound.

Using its best-selling Iso-Series line, Auralex will install its MoPads to isolate the speakers, eliminating any speaker vibrations in the equipment cabinet. Auralex will use its SubDude to isolate the subwoofer, tightening up the bass in the room. Auralex is also showcasing its newest SonicPrint ProPanels, its custom-printed ProPanels featuring “The Art of Sound” theme which blends unlimited design and style options for any room with the company’s acoustically proven technology of its ProPanel product line. Through Auralex’s Free Room Analysis Form, which can be found on the company’s Web site http://www.auralex.com homeowners can obtain a free diagnosis of its space with suggested solutions from Auralex.

In this segment, Auralex will install its SonicPrint ProPanels featuring artwork from independent artist, Janet Blumenthal, whose dramatic paintings invoke the viewer to listen to the music within. Her hand-painted collections are filled with musical instruments and scenarios related to the music industry.

Auralex Acoustics’ new dedicated micro-site, http://www.auralex.com/sonicprint, is an online portal and direct way for dealers to place orders for the company’s SonicPrint custom ProPanels. Users can upload their own personal photography, corporate logos or other custom images to be printed on the SonicPrint acoustical panels. The site offers Auralex’s entire library of images and design options available for SonicPrint. The gallery is divided into several categories for easy browsing and convenient ordering. Categories include artistic/textures, aquatic/animals, children, cultural, flowers/nature, food/beverage, historic/vintage, humor, independent artists, performing arts, motivational, movies, music, scenic and sports. As an added value, the site also features Auralex’s noted Free Room Analysis Form, an installation guide for design and application ideas.

The program begins airing nationally on the WE network on Friday, Feb. 27 at 7:30 a.m.

SonicPrint custom-printed ProPanels are fabric-covered acoustic absorptive panels designed as artwork. For the home theater enthusiast, this exclusive offering opens the door to numerous home decor options, as the acoustical panels are camouflaged under the design of the customer’s choice. Users are no longer limited to single color fabric choices, and can now outfit any space with paintings and drawings of any kind.

SubDude HD is a highly effective device that floats a subwoofer or speaker to yield nearly total acoustic isolation by effectively reducing secondary resonances. Subwoofers create low frequencies that can be felt in the form of vibrations on both the floor and nearby objects, which is referred to as secondary resonance. By decoupling your subwoofer (separating the connection between the speaker and the floor), the result is a cleaner response in the low frequency range.

MoPAD Monitor Isolation Pads provide sonic separation between a monitor and its base, instantly improving the accuracy of the entire monitoring system. MoPAD’s are effective at decoupling monitors from the contents of a room. No matter how good your mixer, mics, preamps, cables, and other pieces of gear that you’ve invested in, you’re not truly hearing what your recordings sound like until you isolate your monitors from their environment. Affordable and easy to implement, Auralex’s MoPAD’s are 12″ long x 4″ wide and can handle up to 100lbs.
