Antennas Direct Named One of the Fastest-Growing Companies in Region

July 17, 2008: ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Antennas Direct has been named one of the fastest-growing privately held companies in the St. Louis area by the St. Louis Business Journal. The private companies were ranked based on revenue growth between 2005 and 2007. Antennas Direct was listed as No. 7 with revenue of more than $2 million in 2007 — more than in 248% revenue growth since 2005.

Sales of antennas in the first two months of this year were up 125% over the same time last year, said Antennas Direct President Richard Schneider. Schneider credits the massive growth of his company to the growing popularity of HDTV and the anticipated digital conversion in 2009.

After the nationwide switch to digital broadcasting on Feb. 17, 2009, over 33 million Americans will lose their television programming unless they purchase necessary equipment or upgrade their television sets.

Antennas Direct specializes in manufacturing antennas tuned specifically for digital television, making HD and digital television reception clearer, brighter and more reliable than old-fashioned “rabbit-ear” antennas.

Antennas Direct recently launched its latest model of digital TV antennas, the ClearStream2 — “which is unmatched in size and performance,” said Schneider. The ClearStream2 is 40% smaller than previous models with enhanced range, beam width and efficiency.

“Demand for ClearStream2 is high because of its strength, reliability and small form,” Schneider said.

The list of the 50 fastest-growing private companies was published in the June 5 issue of the Business Journal. The companies were surveyed and chose to participate by providing their financial information. To qualify, a company needed a three-year sales history, revenue of more than $200,000 in fiscal year 2005 and a headquarters in St. Louis.

This is Antennas Direct’s second time listed as one of the region’s fastest-growing companies. Last year, the company was listed under is former name, Terrestrial Digital.
