American Power Conversion and Rotel Partner to Offer Power Protection for Home Theaters

Rotel to Introduce Line Conditioners Engineered by APC

LAS VEGAS — January 5, 2006 — American Power Conversion (Nasdaq: APCC) (APC), a world leader in power availability and protection solutions, today announced a partnership with Rotel, a global manufacturer of high-end audio/video components, to offer power conditioning and battery backup products. Rotel plans to introduce a select line of APC engineered power components during the first quarter of 2006 designed to work with the company’s revered home theater equipment.

“Rotel is dedicated to offering its customers a complete suite of audio/video components that succeed in creating that first-hand experience A/V enthusiasts crave,” said Mike Bartlett, Rotel’s North American vice president and general manager. “Knowing that power disturbances can ruin that experience, we are pleased to offer high performance power protection solutions designed and manufactured by APC, the proven global leader in power protection products. Rotel customers now can protect and maximize their system with a high-end line conditioner that matches the look and feel of their other components.”

“APC is pleased to partner with Rotel, a respected A/V component manufacturer,” said Joe Loberti, general manager of APC’s Consumer Network Solutions group. “This relationship demonstrates APC’s commitment to developing the highest quality power protection products making it an ideal solution for Rotel customers.”

Rotel, a leading manufacturer of home theater components, including DVD and CD players, preamplifiers, surround sound processors, power amplifiers and receivers, selected APC based on its decades of experience as a world leader in power protection design and manufacture. APC designed its A/V units from the ground up to meet both the specific power requirements of premier A/V components and distinctive needs of A/V enthusiasts.

The APC engineered products will be available in North America through Rotel’s specialty retailers and custom installers. APC exhibited these and other APC A/V products at 2006 International CES.
