NEWBURYPORT, MA — October 9, 2008 — Adder, a leading developer of KVM switches, extenders and KVM over IP solutions, has announced the launch of the AdderLink X50-MS (multiscreen) video extenders. The AdderLink X50-MS is a link transparent USB and high performance video extender that delivers industry leading video quality at up to 1920×1200 together with 44.1kHz digital stereo audio over a single CATx cable. It enables USB peripherals such as keyboards, mice and graphics tablets to be extended up to 165 ft (50m) from the computer.
The AdderLink X50-MS adds a second video and transparent, high speed RS232 connection, up to baud rates of 19200. The extra functionality allows for the extension of computers with dual monitors commonly used in a variety of KVM extension scenarios including industrial applications. The X50-MS is also ideal for interactive digital signage applications such as point-of-sale and touch screen kiosks.
“USB support has become critical as PS/2 keyboards and mice become less common and the use of peripherals such as graphics tablets and USB drives increase,” said Nigel Dickens, CTO of Adder Corporation.
To ensure maximum video performance, the AdderLink X50-MS allows ultra smooth fine picture adjustments to be made. For maximum flexibility, control of extended computers through a local video and audio output at the transmitter unit is also possible.
The AdderLink X50-MS provides true Display Data Channel (DDC) emulation, ensuring all possible resolutions are supported and the video card is always perfectly synchronized with the monitor. The X50-MS is platform independent and is desk, shelf or rack mountable. Up to 8 X50-MS units can be fitted into a 2U frame for rack mount applications.
The AdderLink X50-MS is now available through local distribution partners around the world at a list price of $945 USD.
