Acoustic Energy is starting make some serious headway in North America and that’s a very good thing for music listeners and videophiles who want a high-end listening experience at prices that are downright reasonable.
We’ve spent a lot of time in 2022 with the Acoustic Energy AE1 and AE1002 loudspeakers and have nothing but praise for their build quality and superb performance for the money.
Very few products that have come and gone over the past 24 months, have impressed me as much as the Acoustic Energy AE1 Active Loudspeakers; my review makes it rather clear that I consider these to be the class of the category below $2,000 and perhaps a legitimate challenger to those above it in the stand-mounted category.
For those looking for a more affordable wall-mounted option that offers the same tonal balance and presentation of the 100 series, the Acoustic Energy AE105 have been unveiled.
The AE105 is a versatile, 2-way loudspeaker primarily designed for wall mounting, but is equally suited to a bookcase or shelf position.
The Acoustic Energy AE105 utilizes a soft dome tweeter with WDT wave guide along with two 130mm paper cone drivers, one acting as a passive radiator for improved bass performance.
The loudspeakers have been optimized for vertical wall mounting with the listening position at or below the tweeter axis, the AE105 can be used to enhance the stereo sound from your TV, or as front L/C/R and surround channel speakers within multi-channel home cinema system; the matching AE1082 compact subwoofer is the logical option to keep the system price affordable if you’re considering a 5.1 system.
Finished in a choice of black, white or walnut vinyl veneers, they are supplied with rear mounting plate, template, wall spacers, black and light grey grilles for easy integration within any room décor.

The Acoustic Energy AE105 on-wall speakers will be available in black, walnut or white vinyl veneer finishes for £224.99 each at av.com in the UK. Fidelity Imports who handle Acoustic Energy in Canada and the United States will be getting their first shipment this month and it is our understanding that they will retail for $399 USD (each).
Acoustic Energy will also be offering 2.1 and 5.1 packages with the matching AE1082 active subwoofer (£349 each at av.com).
