808 Audio just released their first wireless speaker with the Amazon Alexa voice service called the XL-V for $129. It should work just like an Amazon Echo that lets you talk to it by asking Alexa. 808’s XL-V allows pairing with additional speakers in other parts of the home to stream music everywhere at the same time. One other difference is the XL-V includes an aux input so you connect a device with a wired connection.
The 808 Audio XL-V integrates Amazon’s Alexa Voice Service to provide information, answer questions, play music, read the news, check sports scores or the weather and more – instantly. Just say the song, artist or genre you want to hear, and stream directly over WiFi from Pandora, TuneIn, iHeartRadio, Amazon Music and more. Or use Bluetooth from your smartphone or tablet to send audio directly through the XL-V.
Far-field voice control lets Alexa hear you from across the room even when music is playing. Alexa works with a wide range of compatible WiFi smart home products using only your voice. Turn on bedroom lights or turn up the thermostat and more by enabling the manufacture’s free Alexa smart home skill. Use it to order pizza, request a ride, track your fitness. Alexa automatically adapts to your personal preferences so it keeps getting smarter the more you use it.
