The new price, down from the original launch price of $249.99 for the Wi-Fi model and $299.99 for the 3G/Wi-Fi model, applies to all PS Vita systems available at retail, including the limited edition PS Vita The Walking Dead bundle launching this week. With its physical controls, high-performance CPU / GPU, and 5-inch OLED touchscreen, the PS Vita system continues to provide an unmatched experience that gamers can take with them wherever they go. The content offering on PS Vita has never been stronger, with more than 900 games available on PSN(SM) as well as the PlayStation Plus membership program that offers an Instant Game Collection, PlayStation Store discounts, and exclusive features in North America.

The Sony PS Vita system will be the ultimate companion device to the PlayStation4 (PS4) system when the entertainment system launches this holiday through key features like “Remote Play.” This innovative feature allows many PS4 games to be streamed on PS Vita at home via Wi-Fi, wrapping gamers in their favorite content on PS Vita’s vibrant 5-inch high-definition screen.

Along with the new price, Sony is currently celebrating the PS Vita system with two promotions on PS Store. The Japanese Game Sale, running until August 26, offers discounts of up to 50 percent off on select PS Vita games from Japanese developers, including Metal Gear Solid HD Collection and Muramasa Rebirth. PS Plus members can enjoy up to 75 percent off in the Japanese Game Sale. In addition, four of the summer’s most anticipated PS Vita titles will launch as part of the PS Vita Summer Select promotion, running from August 20 to September 16, with launch week discounts of 20 percent off select games for PS Plus members. Games featured in the Summer Select promotion include Spleunky from Mossmouth, Dragon Fantasy Book II from Muteki Corporation, Divekick from Iron Galaxy, andKickbeat from Zen Studios.

In the coming months, more than 50 exciting new titles are slated to launch on the PS Vita system, including God of War Collection from SCE Worldwide Studios (WWS), Rayman Legends from Ubisoft, Killzone Mercenary from SCE WWS / Guerrilla Games, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate from Warner Brothers Interactive, and Tearaway from SCE WWS / Media Molecule.
