Apple TV Gets Live Channels via Sling TV $20/mo. Service

Sling TV today announced its live and on-demand Internet TV service will be available on Apple TV. Sling TV, which previously required a Roku Player, Xbox One, Chromecast, Amazon Fire TV or Android TV set-top box will finally bring its $20/month live TV service to the last remaining major streaming player — Apple TV (2015) model.

Sling TV’s live stream channels for $20/month include:

  1. ESPN

  3. AMC
  4. CNN
  5. HGTV
  6. Comedy Central
  7. Cartoon Network
  8. HISTORY
  9. Disney Channel
  10. TNT
  11. Food Network
  12. TBS
  13. Freeform
  14. Adult Swim
  15. IFC
  16. A&E
  17. El Rey
  18. Viceland
  19. Lifetime
  20. Travel Channel
  21. Newsy
  22. Bloomberg Television
  23. Local Now
  24. Polaris+
  25. Maker
  26. Flama
  27. Galavisión

If you drop ESPN, ESPN2, and Disney Channel then these 36 channels are available for $20/month:

Premium channels can also be added on-top at these rates:

  • HBO ($15)
  • Cinemax ($10)
  • Showtime (not available via Sling TV, but offered on App Store at $11/month)

Lastly, there are $5 add-on packs for Kids, Lifestyle, Comedy, News, Spanish and Movies. In total you could pay $75/month for every channel Sling TV offers.

Also debuting today on Apple TV is Sling TV’s new user interface (UI). The updated UI offers a more customizable and personalized viewing experience and improves content discovery of the thousands of hours of programming available on Sling TV.

In the first phase of the new UI roll-out, Sling TV customers gain access to a new personalization feature called “My TV,” which allows customers to select their favorite channels, resume watching where they left off on select programs and set favorite shows and movies for easy, one-click access. Additionally, the new UI includes enhanced content discovery, improved navigation and the ability to easily access content based on genres.

Price and Availability
Existing Apple TV users can now sign up for Sling TV service starting at $20/month. People without an Apple TV can buy an Apple TV 32GB for just $89 (regularly $149) when you prepay 3 months of Sling TV at https://www.sling.com/devices/appletv
