Cambridge Audio StreamMagic Hits 2 Impressive Milestones

Cambridge Audio is celebrating two important milestones: the 10th anniversary of its award-winning StreamMagic platform and 100,000 sold units that use it.

British audio specialists Cambridge Audio is celebrating two milestones in 2021: the 10th anniversary of its award-winning StreamMagic platform, and the fact that 100,000 individual units that use StreamMagic have now been sold.

Wait. What?

100,000 is a huge number for any high-end brand.

We are huge fans of the Cambridge Audio CXN V2 Network Player which we think is one of the best available below $2,000 and a big part of that is the StreamMagic platform. There are definitely some quirks but it’s getting better with each passing year and making their digital components that much more desirable.

StreamMagic is the clever combination of hardware and software that sits at the heart of Cambridge Audio’s network audio players (such as Evo, CXN V2 and Edge NQ), and allows listeners to play digital music from anywhere. Whether you’re listening to streaming services, sending songs from your mobile devices via AirPlay or Chromecast built-in, or just browsing a NAS drive with a mixture of audio file types from MP3 to DSD, StreamMagic can do it all.

Originating with the NP30 network player back in 2010, the powerful StreamMagic module was designed and engineered from the ground up by Cambridge Audio’s talented team in their London HQ. The StreamMagic app – available for Android and iOS devices – is the ultimate in control for your Cambridge Audio streaming products, giving you fast access to devices, playlists, internet radio and more.

Now in its 4th generation, the StreamMagic module (a Quad core ARM Cortex-A53 1.8GHz) is constantly updated to support the latest advances in audio formats and streaming service features. StreamMagic has also seen 14,300 Android and 18,500 iOS app downloads in 2021.

Chris Saunders, Software Manager, says: “We are so proud to be able to celebrate not just one, but two milestones for StreamMagic in 2021. StreamMagic is now 10 years old and continues to be an integral part of so many of our hi-fi products – all of us at Cambridge Audio can’t wait to see what the next decade holds for it.”
