In a category dominated by high-end contenders like the Audeze Maxwell, the fight for the best wireless gaming headset has never been more intense. The OXS Storm A2 enters the arena swinging with 7.1 virtual surround, hybrid ANC, and ultra-low latency—all at a budget price point. With gamers demanding more immersive audio and seamless performance, the Storm A2 positions itself as a serious underdog challenger in a fiercely competitive headset market.
OXS Audio isn’t new to the game. The brand previously turned heads with its Thunder Pro 5.1.2 Gaming Sound System and the Storm G2 Wireless Gaming Headset—both of which delivered surprisingly strong performance for their price. With the Storm A2, OXS looks to build on that momentum and go head-to-head with bigger names in the wireless gaming audio space.

Storm A2 Specs: Not Just Another Cheap Headset With Flashy Lights
Audio: The OXS Storm A2 incorporates 40mm neodymium full-range dynamic drivers complemented by onboard “Xspace” 7.1 virtual surround sound technology. These features are designed to provide immersive audio for game or movie viewing.
Gaming Support: For gamers, the Storm A2 touts lag-free real-time audio with its 2.4GHz wireless dongle, with an ultra-low latency of less than 20ms.
Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation: To make sure every sound is crystal clear, the Storm A2 incorporates Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation. This enables the A2 to deliver realistic bass, mids, and highs without noise interference.

EQ: To further enhance sound quality, the Storm A2 offers two EQ modes. Users can toggle between Surround and Standard settings, allowing them to tailor the audio to fit gaming, movies, or casual listening.
Microphone: In addition to immersive listening, the Storm A2 features a detachable omnidirectional microphone via a 3.5mm connection. Equipped with five built-in mics and enhanced sensitivity, it delivers crystal-clear voice capture—ideal for in-game commands or team chats. The built-in mic also supports hands-free calls when you’re off the clock.

Device Compatibility: The Storm A2 Gaming Headset offers broad cross-platform compatibility with four connection modes: Bluetooth 5.4, USB-A dongle, USB-C dongle, and wired USB. Its 2.4GHz ultra-low latency wireless and Bluetooth 5.4 ensure seamless performance across a wide range of devices—including PCs, laptops, PS4/PS5, Xbox, Switch, tablets, and smartphones. With support for both Type-A and Type-C dongles, the Storm A2 makes connecting to your gear hassle-free, no matter your setup.

Wearing Comfort: With a lightweight metal frame, memory foam earpads, and sweat-resistant materials, the Storm A2 is built for long-haul comfort during marathon gaming sessions. The Bottom Line
OXS may not flood the market with options, but what they do offer punches well above its price class—especially the Storm A2, which prioritizes serious features like hybrid ANC over gimmicks like RGB lighting. If you want a versatile headset that can handle gaming, music, movies, and marathon battery life without breaking the bank or your patience, the Storm A2 is a smart pick in a sea of flashy but forgettable contenders.
However, with competition (refer to our related reading section below) from Sony, Audeze (also owned by Sony), and Beyerdynamic, a lesser-known brand such as OXS, may not be as visible in the market, but its offerings are worth checking out, especially with their prices.
Also, if you prefer gaming-optimized earbuds over full-size headphones, Final and Cleer Audio have options that you should consider at reasonable prices.

Kudos to eCoustics for actually covering the entry-level with as much enthusiasm as the mid-tier and Uber expensive segments. Nobody else is doing that…certainly not Stereofool or The Absolute Farce. Twittering Idiot also gave up on affordable audio years ago.
Kudos to Robert.
