New member Username: Davey73Post Number: 1 Registered: May-09 | I have a HLR5067 Samsung DLP . I noticed a humming noise coming from the TV and the picture looked purple. I immediately tried shutting off the TV, and it would not shut of without hold in the power button. I waited a while before I tried turning it back on, and when I did, Same humming noise and no picture. I looked at the back of the TV and while it was humming a light inside the tv went on and the humming slowed down and then a light screech, then the light inside went out with the humming continuing. What could the problem be? Please help!! |

Bronze Member Username: TvtroublesolutionSan Diego, California USA Post Number: 27 Registered: Jun-09 | Hi David, The problem is the color wheel; this is what it gives color to your TV so if it shatters, if it's not spinning at the right speed or if it's out of balance then it will start to show: >Poor color, under saturated or over saturated >Black & white picture >The picture is intermittently in color and black & white >The picture is showing the wrong color >You hear a loud screeching, whining, or winding sounds >The TV starts to vibrate I went to samsungparts.com and I found your color wheel, the part number is BP96-00674A. I found a color wheel replacement guide as well, it's listed for a different part number but it will give you an idea of how to replace it.
