once you set up dish then you set up antenna settings on your receiver and scan for channels.

Sidhu: There are two special Universal LNBs for 118.7
What is the ID number of the LNB? The instructions are slightly different.

turn power off from back of receiver
go outside and hook up 119 to port 1 and 118.7 on port 2.
lnb 119 is on the right hand side if you are facing dish
then come inside power box up

Since you have not posted the name of your LNB I can only give you instructions based on CB2008A a special LNB for 118 and 119.

You connect ONE output to the switch.
You can choose input 1,2,3, or 4 of the switch. we will presume you used input 1 of the switch.
In antenna set up, set Echo 7 119 to Port 1
LNB freq 10750
TP Freq 11715 V
Do a power scan
Now change LNB freq to 11250
TP freq to 12224 (or 12239) try both the second one if the first does not work
Keep switch port 1 unchanged.
Do blind scan.

If you want to you can use a spare antenna set up slate or create a new one and connect the second output to port 2 of switch.
Then set the two separately as above but with the new port settings.
Scan each slate separately for one sat only e.e port1 connection for 119 and port 2 connection for 118.7.
In this method you are using the output connection intended for a second receiver.

The important parameters are that the 118 needs a low frequency - as low as 9750 and Echo 7 - 119w needs the standard 11250 freq.
If you look up Lyngsat, you will find that the freq for 118.7 is 11715 for TP1 and for Echo 7 TP1 is 12224 (used to be 12239)

Ku Hi= 12.2G to 12.7G
Ku Lo= 11.7G to 12.2G
Standard Ku= Ku Lo

Your problem is yo are setting LNB freq to standard (Ku lo) while selecting a Ku Hi to Tp 12.224G
IT'S WHY YO GOT NO SIGNAL LEVEL

Assuming yo are pointing correctly
Yo need to select Universal not Standard
If your LNB gain is low yo might have to input TP freq manually

But the key is yo must be 100% pointing correctly as many of the Universal LNB gain is low make sure to turn beep signal on and I always use a $10 sat finder in addition to receiver beep option

Use TP 11.715 for Ku Lo or above
Use TP 12.224 for Ku Hi or above
Choose Universal LNB settings

Come back and tell me how it worked?

Do a factory default and reload last bin.
Rescan all sat"
Problem: Viewsat lost signal by itself
and change setup do nothing

If not work:

try it:
All viewsat box
"Write your sat info before"
Go to Code menu
Select Nagra and on Dish 01 06 00 Dish 00 01 00 dish 01 01 00
Delete this 3 provider one by one with F3 on remote
"NEW" do same thing with all provider on Bev provider
09 07 00
09 06 00
09 05 00
09 01 00
08 01 00
no need to delete keys
switch off 10 secs on back panel
"New" do a factory default
and load last bin for your box
turn autoroll on
Keep on
Bin and autoroll regenerete keys
Resolve problem with lost channel , autoroll, freeze and search signal

Do setup on each sat and auto scan on each sat after for recover all channel
"Dont do a blind no need"
"Dont load factory bin"

Thats erase bad data in the box
For box who lost channel and sat setup
ENJOY TV

TESTED and work fine
Issue for problem on Viewsat
Thanks

Reply if it work

LK I agree with ya .... All that work for NOTHING ... If i wanted to use a lid from a pot for a dish, it would work too. The dish really does nothing but bounce a signal to the LNB. and KING YOU ARE WEIRD... All your INFO makes no sense unless you want to to watch GLOBECAST
Use TP 11.715 for Ku Lo or above
Use TP 12.224 for Ku Hi or above
Choose Universal LNB settings

News flash people when you scan it goes through ALL the TPS. You can scan them one by one or blind scan also even add your own if you like.
BTW KU hi or LO .. It is TP Vertical or TP Horizontal. That is how it is shown on all receivers and STANDARD IS THE RIGHT SETTING!!!! Don't confuse everyone with your SH!TNFO. LMAO@KING you are the only person i know of that comes up with the damdest info. TO FUNNY . I have been read about FTA and setting for 5/6 yesrs more if I inclued C Band stuff and DTV. you take the cake king.

well first off plymouth .. what kind of switch are you using and what kind of cable are you running from the switch to the receiver. In wet weather conditions switches and old cables are prone to moister and stop working. Also the ends your not using on your switch you should cap ( make water proof) so water doesn't fry the switch. Start using high end stuff from future shop or where ever. Btw try to move your switch inside from now on. Its easier to work on that way and less chance of breaking

Thanks for the infos Doreen
Cable are brand new RG-6 heavy gauge and Connector water proof.
This swicth is outside but any rain or snow since friday.
Note i have a Invacom QPH-031 LNB
Maybe its too much for the switch?
I blow 4 switchs since 4 months

Thanks for reply

".... However, they work better with a dish that is 36 inches or so in diameter and are setup to hold the LNB differently than the DSS dishes do. The 118.7 will not work with any standard linear LNB, as the frequency range is different."

It is generally accepted that a 30-33" is desirable for scanning 118.7. It is not that smaller dishes will not get the signal, but the fact that they will give poor quality signal and you might lose some channels.
