254 bin, blacklist updater version 1.4. Make sure it's not a puff bin.

Forgot to ask, if the 2500a is converted to 2700? If not, it will have to be converted to that first, or to the PUFF first. Therefore, that could change what bin you will need.

do the same as the 2500 , as the 3000 is a 2500 clone.

For Pansat 2500/FLU new conversions and converted to 2700

Use only on unconverted 2500/FLU or converted receivers.
DO NOT USE ON Genuine Pansat 2700 or on Pansat 2700 clones

Everything you need for 2500/Flu to 2700 conversion in one package.
Instructions included. Either b75 or PUFF

You must select whether you want to have the old b75 files or the new PUFF files.
If you have b75 boot, you must convert to PUFF boot to use PUFF BINs.

Read the instructions properly in the section you have chosen.
PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT
WITHOUT READING INSTRUCTIONS.

Silver: Go to this URL.
http://public.box.net/2500_full_kit
If you want b-75 related files, instructions, etc then go to the b-75 directory and download
If you want PUFF related files, instructions, etc then go to the PUFF directory and download.
Without downloading and reading the instructions, you will never understand.

Method 2: Files that are pure BIN upgrades are preferably installed after turning on receiver and clicking on "Write" when "b" shows up on the receiver.
These files are jvvh_211 onwards to the latest BIN or CS_218T_lightning onwards to the latest BIN file

When i do this step, i get an error "failed", and the reciever just starts up as it normally does..

What do u think? As for the serial cable... Im using the same one that i use for loading bins into my Viewsat Extreme..

Viewsat Extreme uses null cable --

you need a straight RS232 cable --

Silver--If I am understanding you correctly, you are stating that the receiver had already been converted from a 2500 to a 2700? If that is the case, then all you would need is the latest bin, which is the 254. There are several of them. Just make sure that you don't load the puff bin. The blacklist loader is the correct loader to use with the 2500-2700 conversion. All of that should be in the kit.

I was told that the viewsat and pansat (at least for cetain models) take the same cable. Therefore, I believe that to be true in your case.

In the future, always check "system" to see what it currently installed on it. Menu--system information. In fact, check it now.

If it is verified through system information that the receiver is already converted to a 2700, then you will:

Plug in the receiver.

Turn the switch to the off position on the back of the receiver.

Plug in the cables on the back of the unit and to the computer.

Open Blacklist (version 1.4)

Select the proper com setting--usually 1 or 2.

Select bin

Click on the correct/current bin 254 (NOT PUFF)

Select write bin--flip the switch in the back to the ON position

It should start to load. If not, the timing of the switching to on is not correct. Therefore, you will need to switch it back to OFF and start with the rewrite again.

Once it starts loading--do nothing--let it complete--it will say finished--or something to that affect--still DO NOT TURN IT OFF OR DISCONNECT--let it run it's process until you see ON on the receiver. You can now turn it off and hook it up to the tv.

For Pansat 2500a and clones of it and Fortec Ultra you need a straight cable.

I found out that I misunderstood that one of the viewsats used the same cable as the 2500-2700 conversion. Either that, or I was lied to. :-)

This occurred before I owned my own cable and asked to borrow one from someone who has every cable. I was told they needed it to 'service' their own receiver, which is a viewsat ultra. I think they just didn't want to let me borrow it. Ya think?

When I questioned the person about it today, I was told no, that is not what they said. They said they said, I need the cable to service receivers.

So, either way, whether I misunderstood or was lied to, one doesn't work on the other.

Silver--they have them at GlobalWholersales (.biz). However, since your are in Canada, I don't know how it's works in regard to shipping. You can take a look, if you would like.

I'm sure that there are other online sites as well. However, I don't personally know of any others to recommend.

10 bucks doesn't sound like a bad deal at all. Most of the cheaper ones are cheaper, and I do mean in quality.

Considering you were willing to pay $35 for a Belkin at Staples, $10 is not bad at all.

Channel Master recognises the conversion receivers as 2700 or 3500 (Not 2500 or FLU)
