I'm building a new home. I'm going to get a Direct TV HDTV dish. Hears my question. Do I need to wire the house with a special cable for HDTV? Or, should I wire the house with the normal Co-Ax cable?

same cables...in fact last week, I just had DTV install their new HD dish and receiver, and no wires cables were replaced, except for the additional LNB's....just use RG6 quad shield..

BTW...it was all free cause they rebate u back the extra HD receiver price, and no extra charge for the HD replacement dish and install..I sub share too with 12 other receivers for past 7 years, so monthly bill is peanuts..

If you are building a new home
- Only use RG-6 (Quad Shield)
It is the only one that will work with HD
- Use compression connectors
- It worth buying the full kit: Compression Crimper, RG-6 stripper

Try e-bay
I got mine (Crimper + stripper + 30 connectors) for $34

- This is the kind of connectors I recommend to use
It will have blue, black, or green. Use either one but I use the blue

- Also make sure stripper is for Rg-6
- Crimper must say compression crimper

Pardon my stupidity. King, are you saying that Rg-6 is different than co-ax cable? Or, is Rg-6 a specific connector for HDTV on co-ax cable? Thanks again.

- There are many different Coax cables
- There is RG-6 double shield as well as quad shield
- Quad shield is only 5 or 10 cents more per foot. IT IS WHAT I RECOMMEND
- Will other cables work? yes they will
- Best proven product in the market today. RG-6 (Quad shield). Very little or no DB loss

- Same issue with compression connectors, snap and seal. Great weather resistant. Less problems
- Ground your metal coupler or DISEqC switches
- Your connection will last you 50 years

Feel free to ask any question
