I am looking to purchase my first HDTV, actually it will be my first bigrscreen TV and would like some advice.
Here are my constraints: Set needs to be at least 42" probably could go as large as 50" but that would be a very tight fit. Sound quality is irrelevant as it will be running through the receiver. I would like at least one HDMI input. Primary viewing material will be football, basketball and some action movies. Most viewing will be digital cable standard definition. Though a couple of channels will have HD as will the DVD palyer (Samsung HD-850). All signal inputs will be at least Component Video. Expected life of the set is important too, I have heard some bad things about the rear projections sets lasting less than 2 years.
I have seen the SONY KDF-E42A10 as well as a comparable Samsung model in this price range.
Also, I am in the Raleigh area - anyone have suggestions on the best place to purchase (wieghing price and service equally)?
