My 3 year old 57" projection tv is now showing blue arched lines (moving) when the screen is blank or black. Lines show up during DVD's and TV. Any advice? Has playing video games on the tv done this? Can it be fixed?
The same thing happened on my Hitachi set. It's the convergence ICs that are faulting. You can either continue to manually converge the lines or get them fixed. If you let the ICs go too long without repair, they'll eventually burn all the way out and you won't be able to use the convergence at all. With one going out, the other two (red/green) could be affected as well.
I played videogames on my Hitachi, but that's not going to have anything to do with the problem other than the TV was used more than usual...
