Thanks Randy for your insight into this problem, it was in the cable box settings menu under picture, where I found a setting that was default at zoom. I changed it to upconvert, and all of the channels are now exactly as I should expect them to be. Very easy problem to solve, took only a few pushes of a button and your pointer in the right direction. Thanks again, glad guys like you are monitoring the message boards.
