I just purchased a Gemstar 76 cm dish off eBay. I am hoping it will be a great starting FTA/DSS dish. Next payday I will be getting the INVACOM quad polar LNB.

My question is, would I be wrong in assuming a dish is a dish when it comes to brand for any given size. For example if I had an expensive Winegard 30" and another 30" dish that was cheaper like Gemstar, and I have the same brand LNB on both, could I expect any difference in picture or reception? I would not think so. I would think the LNB would be the more important piece when comparing two brand new dishes with no defects. Am I right on that?

@David

Yeah dude a dish is a dish, unless you bend it in the process, you should be good in your pursuit of FTA. Enjoy free TV!
