DVD to DVR

Ok, I just got my new DVR (motorola 6412) and I would like to know if I can connect my DVD player to the DVR? Any advice or is it imposible? Thanks for the help!

Depends on whether the DVR has input jacks (S-video or composite, plus L & R audio) to accept the analog signal from the DVD player. If you're trying to copy DVDs to the DVR, be aware that most commercial DVDs use Macrovision to prevent clean copies.

FYI none of the input connections (other than the coax) are active on any DCT-6412's. It can be done since all the hardware circuitry is there but AFAIK no US cable companies have requested the firmware to activate these ports. The reason I got from a Motorola engineer is that the cable companies were swamped with technacal service calls in the past when some of the input ports on the 2xxx series boxe were activated. Nearly all of the troubles were due to consumer mistakes.
